If you like BBQ, real BBQ, then this place is a must. Now, to be clear, we're not talking about off-the-shelf BBQ, or cooked meat in which you add BBQ sauce at your table, this is meat that has been prepared in a chef-made BBQ sauce. It does not come to your table dripping in sauce and that's because it was prepared correctly. Well, the ribs might drip a little, but you get my point. There are places here in Boca that have good BBQ sauces, but Barrio BBQ is the only place that prepares authentic BBQ plates. I would suggest starting with the sampler platter, which is a little taste of some of their best plates, and then make a decision. The other outstanding quality of this restaurant is that it's not expensive. My wife and I have gone there several times and we both leave fat and happy for between $35-40. That includes a couple beers and some wine. Really, I can't say enough good things about this place.The only down-side to this place is its location. Plaza Vela is not big, it only has one entrance, and you can miss it easily. If you visit Barrio BBQ by taxi then you won't have a problem because the drivers know where Plaza Vela is, but if you're driving then you'll need to take it slow so you don't miss the entrance. Barrio BBQ is on the south side of the Plaza, so if you're going driving south then you can see it, but if you're driving north then you'll need to just look for Plaza Vela. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Really great food at a really great price.

In the morning the place is crowded but the staff manages to have everybody happy. The buffet is very good.At lunch they have menu, not buffet. The food is yummy, yummy. The place is not so crowded.At dinner what saves the place is the attitude of the staff. The buffet is poor but the floor chief manages to accomplish the guest's whims. At the end you are satisfied.

I am 58 years old and this was the best steak I have ever had in my life. The price was good for this quality steak. Their ad says it is Canadian imported. Seasoning, temperature and doneness was perfect. Our friend ordered this Molcajete and it came to the table bubbling. All of the servers yell out "Molcajete!' as they bring it to your table. Friendly staff. We will return.

This a restaurant that you dont expect in a tropical and seafood city; this is a magnificent french cuisine restaurant prepared by a real french chef with amazing very tasty and elegant dishes.
