A very attractive restaurant overlooking a weir on the river, in the beautiful town of Vendôme. We had to sit inside as it was so busy (even at 9.30pm on a Monday) outside, but actually it was lovely. Really nice decor, warm lighting, crisp linen tablecloths and a buzzing vibe made for a pleasant welcoming environment. And then there was the food ........ Mmmmm. Exquisitely presented, delicious starters, mains and Deserts were enjoyed by us both. It was definitely 'fine dining' and everything was excellent but the crème brûlée deserves a special mention - simply the best! Made particularly interesting by an unusual, but delicious addition of whole cherries inside it.

Vendome is a picturesque town 5 hours from Calais. In town are your typical restaurants catering for the herds of tourists passing through, serving average food. Approximately a 10 minute walk from the centre of town is the Restaurant Le Paris. It is a fine dining restaurant, so don't expect huge portions. There is a little room for improvement, but overall it has good quality food, with good service. The restaurant is modern, but there is a need to create an ambience. I would recommend Gambas a la plancha.....delicious prawns with rice.

The meat was cooked as ordered and the meal came promptly. D's 'sauce au poivre' was cream and, he thought, better than the meat it was meant to complement.
If the frites were genuinely 'home-made,' they had been cooked earlier in the day and reheated for us. In any case, they were dry and somewhat overcooked.

Book before hand if you wish to eat outside. We didnt and had to eat inside which wasnt too bad as we were completely alone. The mixed starter was delicious, a selection of dips with wafer thin bread. Hubby and each chose same main, stuffed aubergine. Was excellent. The turkish beer fresh but bitter. Didnt have dessert nor coffee. Paid 31 euros in all. Food cooked in view of all those who eat indoors. Will most certainly return.

Quiche and a salad, a drink of choice which included wine or beer too, a delicious cake, all for 9 euros. And on the way out you can treat yourself to some of their gorgeous chocolates. We found this excellent value, very friendly service and a nice atmosphere. There was a good selection of different quiches and a ham and cheese layered pastry.
The only minus was that the fixed seats were rather close to the tables!

We have been here in Vendome 1 week & have another still to go.
Charlotte, Laurent & the team provide exceptional food & drink at lunchtimes & in the evenings. This is the best restaurant in Vendome & the most hospitable.
Daily fresh meats, fish, vegetables & hand picked field mushrooms in abundance. The best creamed potatoes you will ever taste.
Wines etc are reccomended on your meal choices & the food is served in good portions. You will never leave hungry or disappointed.
I cannot reccomendation this restaurant enough, please give it a try.

Marie and Marc welcome you with a french traditional cuisine done with the fresh products of the moment. The restaurant is located in a rural setting, 5 minutes from downtown vendôme.
Find this restaurant down a lane in St Ouen which is just outside Vendome. The food is really lovely, beautifully cooked and the cheese board is superb - my favourite cheese being one that the chef has invented himself. The portions are very generous so make sure that you are hungry. At the end of the meal the chef comes round to each table and talks to everyone. He and his wife have created something really special here.

Great food and very good service and value for money. Went there with children and we were treated really well. Nothing was too much effort. Good menu and good price. Will go again.

Husband and I chose this restaurant for romantic evening without the kids, however the place is tiny and though there was only another couple and a family we could all hear one another's conversation, joined with the tv showing local french tv. Ambience not very 'maroc'. I also found the establishment to be cold and had to keep my coat on. The kitchen situated next to the tables let out way too much 'frying up' smells and lingered afterwards on our clothes. The loo was very clean. Right now down to the food. Couscous is my absolute fav meal. Must say was disappointed. Sorry. The lamb was a good size and quality. However we didnt have enough vegetables nor sauce and the semoule rather dry. Any extra veg or semoule is charged 5€ more per portion. Other restaurants offer this free. I had the lamb couscous at 16,50 euros and my hubby the royal at 21,50€. We didn't chose starters nor order wine. Way too expensive. We both found it mediocre and expensive for the quality/quantity. The service was very good despite the lady standing in for the owner who is away sick. We will not return as I'm sure I can do a better job !
