You need to come here!! Book it now!! Just amazing. I have no words to describe how wonderful is this place and the food is the best quality. Everything is so yummy. The only recommendation I have is the room really needs a full mirror. We had the best experience!

I was attending a wedding in Velez Malaga and was recommended to stay at Hotel Dila by the bride. Firstly, this town doesn't have all that many hotels, but it seems like this one is a good budget hotel, very centrally located. The room was very spacious, clean, and well maintained. Parking can be an issue (if you are driving), but if you drive around you will get something in the back alleys.

A comfortable guest house, offering a bed and breakfast service, in the glorious countryside of Andalucia! A small, secluded complex with three guest rooms,(two with kitchens and all en-suite) in an old converted rural schoolhouse, for the discerning tourist wishing to be in the unspoilt countryside of Southern Spain, away from the tourists but still close to coast and mountains. Beautiful gardens with pool, BBQ, table tennis, a big trampoline and a guest lounge with libary, where breakfast is also served each morning. La Escuela esta a tan solo 5 minutos de Velez-Malaga y menos de 10 minutos de la costa. Y hay dos bar/restaurantes a unos minutos andando del complejo.
We just returned from a stay at Escuela and couldn’t have asked for anything better. The accommodation was superb, the location excellent for exploring the mountains as well as the coast. Toni and Imanol were extremely helpful. Thank you so much.

Our one-bedroomed apartment was OK but felt rather cold and damp. The only heating was a tiny oil-filled radiator, so we could either heat the living area or the bedroom but not both. The kitchen only had 2 rings - a bit limiting. After 2 days it stopped working and the washing machine also stopped working. It was really difficult to get anyone to look at these as there was no-one on site to tell. Eventually a friend rang them and told them and someone turned up after we had gone to bed - so it didn't get fixed. we had arranged for someone to meet us at the gate to the apartments (at the end of a long driveway). As we walked towards the gate my husband was bitten on the thigh by one of the dogs that were roaming around the property. As we were leaving at the end of the stay I was able to tell the person who took my key and then later on I got a phone call from someone who did not identify herself, but kept shouting at me for not telling them sooner. I would have done if I could have. The last night of our stay was even worse than the previous 6 days as a very large and very noisy group arrived and kept us awake until 4 in the morning,

La Casa de las Titas is a manor house built in the 19th century, though it still has rooms and some of the structure from the 18th century. It is located in the old historical centre of the town of Vélez-Málaga, capital of the region of la Axarquía, in the Eastern Costa del Sol.The house has been restored in two phases, trying always to respect and highlight the architectural and structural value of the original building. At the beginning, the main section of the house was renovated to serve as the home of the owners. In the second phase, the rest of the building was restored, in order to include the touristic apartments. Our idea in engaging in the renovation was to preserve the idiosyncrasy belonging to a building of that age, without loosing the spirit of the original house, and combining all that with details of 21st century architecture. The result is a subtle mixture of an old charming Andalusian house and the design, facilities and services of a modern building.
Stayed for 5 nights in October 2020. Beautiful, tranquil, sympathetically restored and well equipped apartment. Extremely clean with lovely outside space including pool. Perfect location in historic old town. Very accommodating and welcoming Staff. It was perfect, I can’t wait to return. Thank you Jesus and family.

"El Patio Andaluz" is located on a hill in the oldest and most picturesque part of town. The architecture of this house, built in 1858, reflects the style and quality of those bygone days. A stylish three storey mansion, with a floor space of more than 540 sq. m., ‘El Patio Andaluz’ is large, light and enchanting. Rooms can be rented by day, weekend or week. For your greater comfort and peace of mind, we do not rent rooms to different guests at the same time, regardless of the number of rooms being rented. This way you can enjoy exclusive use of all the facilities in the house: the living room, terrace, patio, kitchen, garage and swimming pool.
We stayed at El Patio Andaluz for 10 nights over Christmas and New year 2018/19. I chose this property primarily due to it having a heated pool as my 3 grandchildren 6, 8 and 9yrs were travelling with us. In addition, as there were 12 of us, we needed a property with 6 bedrooms. First the positives and there are many. The Villa is very well equipped and is located right in the centre of Vellez –Malaga with restaurants, bars and a supermarket within a few minutes’ walk. It is tastefully decorated and traditionally Spanish in feel. Vellez-Malaga is a lovely town and isn’t blighted by commercialised tourism in any way. I had some email contact with the owner prior to arrival and he was very helpful booking a restaurant on our behalf for the night we arrived and agreeing to do a supermarket shop on our behalf as we were not scheduled to arrive until after 9pm After reading the reviews and information about the property I realised that the owners used a shared access to their villa, however all of the comments were extremely positive about them not being in any way intrusive. I think we were probably extremely unlucky as the owner and his wife were away from the property over the festive period and had left their eldest son responsible for any issues. He was really helpfull but it transpired he stays in Malaga some 40 minutes away, however the owner’s youngest son was in residence. Our issues which I will go on to describe were probably down to these circumstances. Upon arrival the villa was very cold, however there are air conditioning units in many of the rooms which also serve as heaters. We attempted to use them however the power continually tripped. After numerous calls to the owner’s son we were given the explanation that the area was experiencing power surges. After a few days we discovered that when one particular unit was on the power tripped, this was an obvious fault. We asked if any alterative heating was available but were told no. Given the night time temperature my sons and I travelled to a hypermarket the next day and bought 3 small fan heaters, which overcame the problem. If you visit the villa you may benefit from these heaters as we left them after unsuccessfully trying to use them as part exchange for the 75-euro electric charge! Unfortunately, the electricity issue wasn’t confined to the heaters as the pool heater continually tripped. At first, we could re-set it at the fuse box however as the days went on it seemed to be blowing a fuse nearer the heater which we couldn’t access as it was in a locked room near the poolside. The owner’s eldest son attended on a couple of occasions and re-set it, however this impacted on the pool temperature meaning that toward the end of our stay my grandchildren (who until this point seemed immune to the cold water) gave up! The Villa has 6 bedrooms, what I didn’t realise is that two are ante rooms which can only be accessed via one of the other bedrooms. We were all family so managed to work this through albeit with some inconvenience, however if you are travelling with friends this would be an issue. I mentioned that I was surprised about this to the owner’s son who told me that all information clearly stated this. Maybe I’m not looking in the right places (I booked via Booking.com) but I can find no mention of this anywhere. Most concerning and what has been key to me providing this review is the shared access. Again, I must emphasise that this might not be an issue when the owner is in residence but as his youngest son was home alone, we experienced some problems. There is a garage used by the owner it has direct insecure access to the villa. The owner's son had gone out in his car and inadvertently left the garage open. We were sitting in the kitchen when a Spanish man arrived at the kitchen door. He looked like he had been sleeping rough but I presumed he was a workman sent to look at the electric issue. I gave up on communication and phoned the owner’s eldest son and let him speak to the man. He (the son) appeared concerned and began to lecture me about letting strangers into the villa. I explained that he had obviously gained entry via the insecure garage and he immediately apologised. There is a tourist board sign outside the villa and it transpired that the man was looking for lodgings! This may seem like a triviality but prior to reaching the kitchen he had the opportunity to access all of the rooms including the rooms my grandchildren were playing in. Thankfully he did not. Finally continuing on the security and safety issue the owner’s youngest son took the opportunity of his parents being away to have friends around. I am sure that they are all trustworthy and respectable but then in these days these are not risks or assumptions I am comfortable in taking. This came to a head in particular on New Year’s night when there were a number of young males and females accessing the villa up to the early hours of the next day. Forgetting the noise (we were all in bed as we were leaving to go home at 5am on the morning of 2nd January) it is disconcerting to have youths who are not the owners accessing the common areas of the villa where my 3 grandchildren were sleeping. This is not an arrangement I would tolerate again. I must emphasise that I am fairly confident that if the owner was in residence many if not all of these issues may have been rectified or not arisen, it may be that we were just unlucky, however these are all factors that need to be considered prior to renting. Personally, I will not return which is a shame given the positives that this villa has to offer.
