Reviews on International food in Valparaiso, Valparaiso Region, Chile. Only 70 miles northwest of capital Santiago, Valparaiso is Chile's main port and known for its bohemian, artistic vibe and lovely vistas. Its UNESCO-designated historic downtown offers charming colonial architecture, great seafood restaurants, markets and stores. Take 100-year-old funicular Ascensor Artilleria or climb Cerro Concepcion for stunning ocean and city views. Back at street level, visit writer Pablo Neruda's house.

With a bottle selection ranging from Delerium to Rogue to a handful of Chilean breweries, the beer at Irlandes does not disappoint. The space itself is dark and relatively quiet, attracting a calmer crowd than most dives but with all the perks (live music, tasty finger foods) of great pubs. The beers themselves are quite expensive (with the exception of their Happy Hour deals, which are a great deal), but you're paying for quality. All in all, a great place to kill a night or three when you're in Valparaiso.

Ok, I went there because I needed to try a ceviche. And I was NOT disappointed. It was delicious, delicate and flavorful. Had some wine recommended by the waiter and my boyfriend had always a frosted glass for his beer. The waiter was very polite and the service was good and fast.Recommend the visit!

We spotted this restaurant whilst out walking and thought it looked nice. We then had a read on TripAdvisor and decided to book online for the following evening. A short while later we received an email confirmation for the same evening rather than the next day. We decided to go along a day early as the restaurant was only a short walk from our hotel. On arrival we were shown to our table and presented with a set dinner menu in Spanish. Thankfully some of the staff speak English and were able to explain that on that night it was only an 8 course tasting menu with matching wines, all from the same producer. We decided to stay and give it a try. The food contained a mix of seafood, meat and vegetable dishes with the vast majority being delicious. The rock fish ceviche was a real highlight, the pickled herring less so. The majority of the matching wines were also very good, although the Rose served with dessert was not to our tasting. Service was very good. In total we spent a little more than planned at $82,500 pesos (£92 or $121 US).Hello,Thank you for visiting us and taking the time to write a review. So, all in all, I guess we are happy we made the mistake of changing your reservation date (oops) so you could try the tasting menu we have on (some) Fridays.Best,Christian Welsch

Our restaurant, with 80 seats, has a large terrace with an unbeatable view of the Panteón and Concepción hills, as well as an excellent view of the bay of ValparaÃso. It is open daily from 12:30 to 16:00 offering lunch, from 16:00 to 19:00 cafeteria and f
In a casual atmosphere... It's a cheap and cheerful place with cafe style food and a sublime balcony looking out over Valparaiso. Good place to eat if you're doing a walking tour of this part of the city.

We liked our lunch so much that we came back the next day - and were not disappointed. Between us we tried two types of salad, veg burrito, stuffed squash, chicken teriyaki, reineta (queen fish), beef/gorgonzola ravioli, apple and custard crepes and lemon meringue pie - and all were delicious, as were the fresh juices and bread served as part of the set menu. Not the cheapest daily menu, but certainly better variety and quality than some of the cheapies that we've tried. Also impressive were the young waitstaff who kept their good humour despite having to run up and down the stairs. Highly recommended.
