As a real French "Brasserie" we are something in between a restaurant and a bar. A good selection of local and original dishes, not too long but always good, lots of beers and intersting wines, mostly from Aosta Valley. Small place (it's always a good ide
Seated in the rear that is decorated like a cave, the menu is explained in great detail to ensure the correct choice by the very kind waitress; I ordered the wild boar with polenta which was lovely, combined with a recommended Shiraz. For desert a cheesecake with a white grape desert wine. When we departed the owner greeted and remembered our visit from the previous year; this made us feel very welcome indeed. We will be back

The Chambre d'hôtes Wongade is a typical Walser home dated 1660 . After a masterly and accurate work Of conservative renovation as become an exclusive and cozy structure with 5 bedrooms and a attacched Restaurant where you can try different tasty local fo
Wongade is in a restored Walser chalet -- one of the most beautiful buildings in Gressoney la Trinite (see photo). The dining room is gorgeous. The cuisine matches the surroundings: well-executed, imaginative dishes inspired by the Gressoney tradition. We all loved the home-made fontina-filled potato gnocchi. They are much longer than standard Italian gnocchi and they come in two colors because they are made with two different varieties of lically sourced potatoes. Among the secondi, we enjoyed the veal guancia and the pork shanks. The desserts were outstanding too. The staff are superfriendly, were happy to let us share dishes, and very nice to our three children. We will definitely be back.

We have a house in Gressoney and we know almost all the restaurants in the St Jean-La Trinite area. Most of these restaurants serve a standard Walser cuisine which is made of polenta and cervo (local deer). You can also find pizzerie that serve traditional Italian pizzas. The problem with all these places is that the menu is limited, so there isn't a lot of choice, which is a problem if you stay for some time in Gressoney.Plus, the locals are not the friendliest people in Italy, so the service is sometime not really satisfying.Nothing of all that at the Fienile: the owners are from Sardinia, and they are extremely kind with everybody, locals or tourists, italians or foreigners. They make no difference. The menu at the Fienile is really interesting because there are a lot of meat dishes alongside Sardinian fish recipes. The dishes are really good, made with the freshest ingredients, especially the Gnocchetti alla Campidanese (fresh tomato sauce plus sausage), and the Fassona meat dishes (Fassona is the best Italian meat, produced in the Piedmont area). They also make the famous Seadas, the best of the Sardinian desserts! There is really a lot of choice, they even make pizzas! The restaurant itself is really nice, it's all made of local wood, it's really comfy and everybody spends time there after finishing their lunch or dinner. All in all a very good restaurant, with honest prices.Do not forget to reserve a table, especially in the evening, as it gets quite busy on the weekends and vacations periods.

We went as a large family group for our chalet night off. The food was lovely. Huge pizzas and excellent value. The fried polenta with blue cheese dip to start was to die for! Wine was great, again at excellent value (10⬠for a 1 little carafe). Would definitely recommend and would return should we go back to Gressoney.

This is a great place! You order and pre-pay at the bar and then the waiters run around and call numbers for the orders. If you are lucky it's your number (a bit confusion as the numbers are not called in a logical order). Relatively short wait for most of us and the food is worth waiting for. Very reasonable prices!

Coming down from the mountains trip, we found this place by recommendation. And it was so worth trying. This is a small yet very focused on client restaurant.Great service & a lovely Lady taking care of the customers + a Master Chef that finds a moment to come and talk with the clients - wow - such unique approach.Restaurant is most famous for their homemade burgers - and truly they are worth trying. On top of that the menu is really prioritized with best in class dishes - currently available on the board.Amazing desserts & unique Amaro choice that you just have to try.Great atmosphere. The place is always full for dinner so a recommendation is that you pre-book a table for sure.

Our favourite place on the mountains of Gressoney. The staff were all so friendly and recognised us as returning guests every day. The bar was great for a pit-stop but the restaurant served the best Italian food. The carbonara is amongst the best I have had (and I travel the world trying carbonaras!) Very clean and well presented in an old building right by the ski slopes. I cannot recommend enough - book for lunch when you stop for a hot chocolate in the morning.

The dining room is spacious and bright with large windows directly overlooking the lake. The pine panelling, the antique wooden beam ceiling and the finest decoration make the atmosphere warm and cosy. The restaurant is open to external guests and is famous
This wooden alpine atmosphere restaurant offers great meals at a reasonable price. The view is great overlooking a lake. Having taken for primi the taglioni with ragu di capriolo and for secondi the Carbonade, I can assure you this was worth to drive up there from St Vincent where we stayed (although this may be a scary drive night time for those not used to mountainous roads).
