Aosta (Italian: [aˈɔsta] ( listen); French: Aoste [ɔst]; Arpitan: Aoûta; Latin: Augústa Prætṓrĭa Salassṓrum) is the principal city of Aosta Valley, a bilingual region in the Italian Alps, 110 km (68 mi) north-northwest of Turin. It is situated near the Italian entrance of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, at the confluence of the Buthier and the Dora Baltea, and at the junction of the Great and Little St. Bernard routes. Aosta is not the capital of the province, because Aosta Valley is the only Italian region not divided into provinces. Provincial administrative functions are instead shared by the region and the communes.

We went to this restaurant after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately the food was terrible. The beef tartare was terrible, we had snails in butter and they were sweet! The bread was stale and the steak was the worst we have ever eaten! We left it as the food was so bad. The quality of the food here is way below average. We would not recommend this place to anyone.il mio locale non è per tutti ,avrei voluto dirvelo subito che chi non mi piace difficilmente uscirà sodisfatto, credo che siete fra i pochi a cui non ho neanche offerto il digestivo ma non vedevo lâora che andaste via , grazie per avermi dato ulteriore prova del mio sesto senso.

We popped by this shop to browse their wines. A nice lady patiently explained wines of Aosta and showed us some of their collection from Piedmont - Clerico, Sandrone and Gaja to name a few. They have a good selection of Barbera as well. They have a smaller collection from Toscana at the back and even a few bottles from Slovenia. We tried one of the reds from the region from Anselmet and a white. Their cheese and salumi plate was good as well. In the summer, try to get a seat outside as it can get quite stuffy inside, Service can be slow at pre-dinner hours.

We come to La Chaumiere every time we pass by Aosta. The place is very nice and Marco and Lucia will do everything to make you feel at home. The food is exceptional, especially the meat, but do not miss the traditional recipes! Personally, I love the âFilettiniâ, incredibly tender raw meat seasoned with your choice of onions, artichokes and Parmesan cheese. Of course âMocettaâ and âLardo di Arnadâ should be tasted because they are second to nothing. The wine list is impressive too. Do yourself a favor, have a meal here!

The burgers are good, but donât go any bigger than a double - you will waste most of it! Prices are very reasonable but the service is a little slow and not very friendly. Well worth a visit if youâre in the area. Thank you so much for your review, we promise to improve about the service! See you soon!

We had a few places that we thought we might try in Aosta but decided on here due to the incredible beef on display. Aged for 55 days and well cooked it was extremely good. Had a couple of different meat plates for starters with a passable Aosta Chardonnay and a nice Aosta red with the steaks. For the quality of meat a kilo coming in at â¬60 for 3 steaks was excellent value. We got there at 12 and had a nice table on the street where we were somewhat impressed with the 3 local gentlemen next to us who seem to meet there most days working their way through a hunk of local cheese and 2 and a half litres of wine before going home for lunch!

Phenomenal experience, not only because of the delicious meal, but the service was incredible. We stopped in with no reservation and our baby and enjoyed a relaxing, wonderful lunch. Genuinely nice people run the restaurant. Would recommend it to everyone, beautiful location as well!

Itâs a small place with few tables indoors but very cozy. Lady who served us was very friendly, attentive and detailed in her explanation. We ordered cold cuts and cheese tapas, beef infused with wine and Polanta. She recommended great Prosecco and red wine which we throughly enjoyed.Great meal and a great find

Siamo un semplice negozio di pastafresca che dalle 12:15 alle 14:30 cuoce la pasta e la serve con i sughi del giorno. Si mangia a bancone oppure in take away. Il locale non fornisce il servizio toilette
This was a delight. If you speak Italian as badly as I do, then the owner compensates with excellent English and makes you feel at home.3 of us had different starters..solo good.Main plates were equally delightful. Our hard to please son declared the pasta the best he has ever had.Wonderful, and very filling. And then, stomachs very full, came dessert. 3 different ones tested and demolished. Again, excellent.A huge thank you for an experience we will enjoy for a long time.
Fresh pizza dough and delicipus toppings make for a relatively cheap but delicious meal. We took our pizza out to the square as this is a take-away restaurant and enjoyed the food as well as the view.

We dined here on our first night in Aosta. The food, wine and service was great. The menu varies to suit locally available fresh produce. Lovely central location and alfresco dining added to the overall experience. Prices very reasonable. Certainly worth a visit.
