Pizzini is a great place for spring access to ski mountaineering peaks. The hut is very comfortable and has a laid-back atmosphere, with exceptionally friendly and hard working staff. It's on the power grid and has hot/cold running water. Breakfast is anytime after 6 am. Some of the rooms have private showers. We also enjoyed a wood-fired sauna one afternoon (give them a couple hours warning to get it fired up). You can buy a sandwich to take skiing, and they'll fill your thermos up with tea also. The storage and drying area for ski gear is very well organized, and they have plenty of hut shoes. Yes, it's a bit pricy. But it's at 2700 m, and it's quite an effort to get food up there. Forget the price, and enjoy a cold beer on the sunny deck!

Ate here one evening with a friend. They originally ignored us and service was slow.Food was quite pleasant, but portions were quite small and daintily presented. However they did offer us (2 men) additional portions. Not a fine dining venue, but not cheap, so they get an average rating

The venue is located on the ski slopes of Santa Caterina next to the mountain station of the chair lift form Santa Caterina to the ski slopes. Parking is possible on a public parking lot beneath the restaurant. The have three different kind of seating areas. One outside and one inside area with self-service and one restaurant area with service. We had drinks only, Bombardino and Lumumba which were great. The service is very kind and fast.

Enchanting alpine restaurant with a special tavern at the basement. Here, you can taste refined recipes, inspired by the local traditions & enjoy our delicious pizza.
Since we were looking for a place to stay during our motorbike trip through Europe, we saw a sign that said 'Bikers Welcome'. When we came in this turned out to be a pizzeria, but family of the owner had appartements in the area with a free room so we booked a table for later that night and went to the room. When we came back we were way too early and the pizzeria wan't opened yet, but they opened up for us so we could have a drink on the terrace overviewing the fastflowing Frodolfo river. When tehere were more people entering the restaurant we went inside as well and we were placed at a table overlooking the ground floor of the restaurant. Restaurant was busy with takeaways but the staff also had enough time for us and the other seated people. We both ordered a pizza and eventhough the number of one the piza's got mixed up we both got the best tasting pizza's we had in a long time. The owner took the time to talk to us about motorcycles and offeredto make breakfast for us the next morning. We just had to call him an hour before we wanted breakfast because he was going to ride his bicycle up the Passo di Gavia and needed some time to get back.We were very pleased but declined his offer, so he suggested a little cafe down the road that served a good breakfast as well. And when we went onwards the next morning, we indeed saw the owner going back down Gavia in his green shorts and shirt, just like he said.Thank you Al Frodolfo.

The Sunny Valley Mountain Lodge is located directly on the ski slopes in the Valle dell' Alpe at 2700 meters in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, and can be reached by cable car from S. Caterina Valfurva with just 15 minutes Has 11 magnificent Suite
Sunny Valley's an amazing structure behind Mountain Sobretta in Santa Caterina Valfurva. You can reach it comfortably via Gondola, also if you don't ski. It's a great place to lay out in the sun.Its specialty is red meat. It has a super Grill in the middle of the dining room. The view's spectacular and the building structure is totally unique at 2.700 meters!

Our visit to Stella Alpina was a highlight of our recent holiday in Südtirol. The host, Andrea, provided us with exceptional hospitality and an outstanding meal of local specialities (polenta, fungi, nettles) followed by locally made liquore amaro. Adding to this memorable experience, Andrea gave helpful advice concerning nearby walking/climbing options, of which there are many -- this is an ideal low altitude base -- and despite our primitive language skills, he was patient and enthusiastic. The newly renovated lodgings are simple and elegant (some final details were not yet complete), and with such breathtaking views up and down the valley what more could one possibly need? We will certainly return to this delightful corner of the Valfurva.

As the weather was bad we arrived early at the rifugio and had lunch, dinner and breakfast there. Excellent lunch: I recommend the pizzoccheri and of course one of the delicious home made cakes!! Dinner was plentiful: pizza, pasta, fish with fresh salad and desert (beignet). Luxury !! The managers are very friendly. There is a large room for drying shoes and other gear, plenty of toilets and washing facilities and sleeping comfort is good as well: very warm down blankets! Looking forward to our next stay!

In the heart of the Stelvio National Park, the Rifugio Quinto Alpini offers a comfortable and refurbished with traditional cuisine and treated, bar and rooms with duvets from 6 to 13 seats some with private bathrooms.Possibility of trekking and mountainee
We passed about 1 hour waiting in the Tibet Restaurant on the otherside of the Stelvio pass - so then we decided to go to this rifugio - as the path up to the Rifugio is not so easily to reach (you need to walk up for about 5-10 minutes) it is not full of the tourists. We got a warm welcome from the staff and they were very sorry that the could not serve us everything - but they made proposal to eat and we were happy about the choice, as the dishes were good.
