We spent a night at the camp and I feel that it is a totally overpriced experience for what it is. There is a nice thing about the yurts, that is a heated blanket given for the night. However, it really felt like the lady owner is just interested in making money and the meals were very very basic! We were not served coffee for breakfast even though we asked for it … that was not a nice thing and thank God at least I had my instant coffee. All in all, if there was another camp, I would stay elsewhere! Mostly because it felt like greed and tension were in the air…

Sayyod Yurt Camp is a good starting point for hiking, cycling, horse riding tours, village tours and Lake Aydarkul visits. Additionally, guests can participate in our regular cooking classes or visit the local farmer’s market on Saturdays. We have 12 traditionally decorated yurts installed in the mountain camp, the camp has on-site restaurant and a modern swimming pool. The location of the camp allows you to plan your stay with us when you travel between Samarkand and Bukhara. Our mountain yurt camp is a great place to unwind in nature if you have seen too many mosques and madrassas of major Silk Road cities.
We stayed one weekend at Sayyod Yurt Camp and had a fantastic time. The yurts are clean, very well kept and fun to stay in. At night, the area cooled off nicely and we were able to sleep without problems. We enjoyed excellent Uzbek food three times a day, served in the garden under a tree. Very friendly English speaking staff, clean bathrooms, and great swimming pool with a view of the surrounding mountains. Very important: Wireless Internet in the camp works flawless and fast. During the day we went for long hikes in the area. Perfect location to relax and experience rural Uzbekistan. We will come back.

The camp is located in the middle of Kyzyl Kum desert. As we visited in the spring there was plenty of greenery around although apparently it gets very sandy in the summer. The yurts were quite spacious although if full complement of four guests stayed in there it may become a bit busy. Wooden beds were quite narrow but comfortable and there was plenty of spare bedding around. There was quite minimal storage space. There was electric lighting provided. Toilets, as befits a campsite, were in a separate block near the entrance. Unfortunately, the water was cold so only a few of us braved a full shower that night. Toilets were clean and adequate. Breakfast and dinner were held in the open air shed and were rather good considering the conditions. For evening entertainment we headed to the campfire in the centre to listen to local singer and join in with other guests in general merriment. The campsite provides a free ride on two-humped camels that patiently take guests around in the large circle.

Yurt camp every year becomes more and more popular, taking here tourists from all over the world who come to see world famous monuments of Uzbekistan. Employees of embassies and international organizations, joint ventures and their guests happily come here to relax and spend their "weekend" away from civilization.
End of July is a quite season hence the beauty of traveling here! The camp was perfect, beautiful, cosy and with all facilities (more than expected) the view just breathtaking, especially if you wake up early for sunrise! Staff was very nice, even if limited in English/French. I have arrived in the early afternoon and I enjoyed the camp all to myself, while a group joined later for dinner and music around the fire. Dinner and breakfast very good! I would recommend it if you like the wilderness and want to break away from the city. Still quite a drive from Samarkand but would definitely do it again!

Among the endless sand dunes, under the scorching eastern sun, in the heart of the Kyzylkum desert, are the Yurts, attracting travelers with their uniqueness. The first prototype of the yurt originated in the Bronze Age, over time, becoming an integral part of the culture of nomads. She easily disassembled and transported, protected from rain and winds. Such mobility allowed everyone to move to new pastures, settling in any conditions. For you, we will organize the most fascinating journeys in the Kyzyl-Kum desert! Tracks on camels and horses, jeep safari, hunting, and fishing! Our yurt camp is always ready to meet you! It is no exaggeration to say that today it is one of the most comfortable yurt camps!
The place is quite off road located in the sands. Yurtas are warm, but the beds are a bit hard. We used only 2 beds, so we took blankets to lie on, and it was OK. Food in the restaurant is good. You may anjoy an nice sunset. Good swim in the lake - 10 km drive.
