The north Indian city of Varanasi, or Benares, is regarded as sacred by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. Situated in the fertile Ganga valley and on the banks of the Ganges, Varanasi is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus, who come to bathe in the holy river. Known as the City of Temples and a beacon of culture, Varanasi has produced many renowned writers. It’s also a center of silk weaving, so practice haggling at the chaotic bazaar for some beautiful souvenirs. Rickshaws are the best way to get about.

I just came here for having a little snack and stayed for hours. The view is amazing, but the people are the best. So nice, friendly and good. The food is fresh, so it takes a minute to prepare it, but itâs awesome and cheap, too. I came back the next day and stayed till my flight to Delhi in the evening.

A chilled out zone in the hippie lane of old Varanasi with good food, music and art. We take pride in cooking and serving food made with love. We also have a rooftop sitting space.
The coffee shake is not that great and our pastries were very dry. We had cinnamon roll and chocolate croissant. The service was good and they go beyond to serve you well but we were very unlucky in our orders....Hey Simo, we hope this message finds you healthy and full of life. We feel really sorry for your bad experience at Shiva cafe last year. This is to inform you that the management and the staff have changed this year since January 2019 at Shiva cafe & German bakery. Now, it is run by a team of young and enthusiastic people who are passionate about cooking and serving. We have re-furbished the space with some wall art, plants, macrame art, and up-cycled art installations. We are conscious of food and hygiene. We are serving REAL coffee brought from the coffee estates in Chikmagalur and serving home-made healthy desserts. Hope to see you in this life :)Love,Team Shiva cafe & German bakery

This place is adorable, the father is so friendly and chatted with us for a good while telling of his past in Nepal. The food was good, the Nepalese thali was very tasty and a friend had the steak which was very good as well. It was lovely being able to relax and eat and talk amongst friends and not feel rushed. Getting here could be a challenge as it is tucked away
