Reviews on International food in Bunnik, Utrecht Province, The Netherlands. Bunnik ( pronunciation (help·info)) is a municipality and a village in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. The recorded history of the village dates back nearly 2000 years, when the Romans constructed a fort at Fectio (now Vechten) with a harbour facing the river Rhine, which marked the border of the Roman Empire. The fort developed into a thriving trading centre, which continued to exist after the Romans abandoned the fort in the fourth century. Subsequently, the area was occupied by the Frisians and the Franks. In the 8th and 9th century the villages of Bunninchem (Bunnik), Lodichem (Odijk) en Wercundia (Werkhoven) developed.

Absolutely loved the character, look and feel of this place. It was like walking into someplace that had been converted out of a medieval castle. Very steep steps down to the canal entrance so bear in mind if you have mobility issues. Warm welcome. We both went for the â¬29.50 set menu. We had the salmon roll which has a very strong taste and the pig terrine which was very interesting. My main of halibut was a lovely bit of fresh fish but could have done with a bit more seasoning and I didn't love the accompanying sauce. My husband was disappointed with the size of his mixed grill skewer but enjoyed the taste. I chose the tiramisu dessert which I wouldn't ordinarily but this one came with an amaretto and caramel sauce which was lovely. The mains came with chips, apple sauce and a homemade slaw which I really enjoyed and you could have more on request but I was too stuffed. As you walk further back towards the loos the decor gets increasingly grand and there is a section with its own screen which was showing an old movie. If this place was local to me I would consider hiring it for a screening. Great service and amazing ambiance (best in any restaurant I've ever eaten at) but the food wasn't as great as I would have liked.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, elegant and a great value for this bike friendly area. The pool, sauna, and dining are family friendly. The menu was excellent! My guess is they will have a Michelin Star very soon. Everything about the dining experience was top drawer. The fact that the hotel dates back to Neapolian just makes it more special.

Restaurant Karel 5: elegant dining in the historic heart of Utrecht This is where we make culinary dreams happen. Restaurant Karel 5 is a gastronomic restaurant, located in a medieval refectory in the heart of Utrecht. It is where, in bygone days, the fri
This is the brassserie inside Karel V which also has a more luxurious restaurant. It is the more cosy restaurant with nice dishes in a slightly more noisy atmosphere. So less suitable if your hearing is impaired or not so good anymore. Dishes are fine wines are great and with good company great place to be.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip and ate in the hotel restaurant.I had schnitzel with a cheese sauce. It was pretty good and a very big portion.... Accompanied by wedges, fries, cabbage and a side salad.nearly too much food! This cost Euro 17.50 which is very good value for a hotel. There were plenty of other choices at similar price and a more expensive steak menu. Service was efficient and friendly. This is not really a restaurant you would travel to due to the location of the hotel but if you are staying here you will get a very nice meal without having to travel anywhere.

We visited this delightful small restaurant in Utrecht for dinner. It was buzzing with activity but relaxing. Most of the clientele was Dutch. We were warmly welcomed in faultless English. We chose the three course surprise menu and were served a mackerel starter, venison main course and chocolate dessert with a well balanced flight of wines. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.Thank you for your positive review. It is always great to hear that also our international guest have appreciated our service and food. We hope to be able to welcome you back another time.

I've ordered a potato with beef stew but the taste did not make me want to eat it all. The potato is big but I don't recommend itDear Lucas,At Jacketz we are passionate; passionate about our customers, passionate about our potato craftsmanship and definitely passionate about our food. We Utrecht 3 months ago and all dishes and fillings are made with a ton of love! Our traditional stewed beef tastes like a traditional Dutch stewed beef. We were surprised that our stewed beef, a great cut of beef slowly simmered in Jopen Koyt beer, Dutch kruidkoek and traditional spices did not live up to your expectations. It's by far the best sold filling in our restaurants. Our staff will always set you up with an alternative dish. Did you inform our colleagues about the reason of your disliking? We would love to offer you a second introduction to Jacketz. Feel free to drop by!Best regards,Jacketz Utrecht

Good food & good beer is what Belgie is all about. 20 taps and a huge bottle selection of international beers.
extensive bottled belgian list and a good tap list of at least 20 beers, many unusual. Great bar tender, who of course spoke immaculate English and was very helpful. Handful of locals outside were initially sort of intimidating but they provided some entertainment. Didn't get any food, but didn't want any. Was there strictly for the beer. Weirdquirky decor - plastic snakes hanging off the lights and a large shark on the wall. But if you like Belgians, this is a good place to visit.

I ate with a colleague at Victoria last week and we were both very impressed. Less formal than the Hermitage where we ate the night before and with a wider range of dishes. We had salmon tartare starters and I had the 'naked veggie burger' for the main. The salmon was excellent but the burger came with a salad with a lot more cheese than I'd have wanted but was otherwise very good. Quite expensive (by UK terms - blame Brexit for the currency) and dinner for two was over 90 euros with a glass of wine and an alcohol free beer each.

have Enjoyed a great evening with the love of my life. The staff is extremely friendly and this place is unique. The 6 course menu Michelin Star level!Although the start was slowly and delayed caused by some big groups arriving late we had a great culinary experience. One tip; do something for your wardrobes, coats are hanging on floor in Toilet area
