Find out what French restaurants to try in Amersfoort. Monolithic gates still protect Amersfoort, a well-preserved medieval city that remains connected to its history. Built into the foundations of 13th-century defensive walls, the Muurhuizen wall houses are one of the city’s most intriguing features. Art enthusiasts should visit the Mondriaan House (birthplace of abstract artist Piet Mondriaan) and the Armando Museum, a collection of works by the famed Dutch painter.

In the Mariënhof, the monastery of Amersfoort, you will find winebar Zuster Margaux. It is the perfect setting to enjoy a good glass of wine. The well designed and detailled interior can definitly be called extraordinary and classy

Used to be a shop for paints, brushes, frames, etc. Now coffee, drinks & lunch, not sure about dinner. Exposed brick, open layout. 2 floors. Plenty of lunch options, had the smoked salmon, was very good.

Everything is average. Not necessarily a bad thing but don't expect to be pleasantly surprised. Plenty of choices and prepared properly. Friendly staff, decent prices. My problem with this restaurant is that it tries to please the average consumer with middle of the road everything, that it just really doesn't appeal to me at all. I even find it offensive, where's the passion where's the signature!?!. Given the so many choices in Amersfoort where price is in the same budget but the dishes and or ambiance so much more inspiring I will happily skip this restaurant and go somewhere where the restaurant has a real opinion on what to serve and food is prepared with passion and love!

Recently the restaurant isnât just redecorated in an awesome new style but also the kitchen is on the eve of becoming the new socalled bistronomique standard in town. With simple, fresh, often grown in theor own garden, veggies the chefs make stunning new dishes. More fish then meat and a head-to-tail sustainable vision the new era at this highly recommended restaurant and bar has arrived. Try their new delicious dishes, remarkable wine list at their impressive bar, new dining areas or in the gardens. Must eat and definately still after 18 years on my fav list!

We found this quaint place while walking to the tower in Amersfoort. We stopped by and sat on the terrace. We had a beer and at the suggestion of the waitress a ham and cheese toastie with fried egg on top. It was a nice relaxing meal. This is only a short distance from the tower.

Me and my wife had something to celebrate so choose to have dinner in a restaurant that was highly regarded. We decided that 't Bloemendaeltje would be it. The restaurant is run by the chef and his wife. There are three options a 2, 3 or 4 course menu. The chef decides what dishes to serve and what products to use based on season, mood and availability. Should you have objections to certain food, then this will be taken into account. We choose to go for the four course meal. The ingredients ranged from duck, fish, avocado and for our main dish we had a deliciously prepared pigeon. The service is personable and excellent although at one time we felt we had to wait a bit to long for the next course. The accompanied wines were well suited to the dished, but a tad on the sweet side for our taste.Overall, we had a wonderful time and it was a pleasure to eat here.

Encouraged by the T/A reviews we booked for a Saturday night dinner, and were totally delighted on every level. The venue is charming and the décor tasteful but not overly formal so males for a relaxed evening. The service faultless from the Owner / host to the waitresses all attend you to make it a perfect experience.Menu choices range from a la carte to a series of set tasting menus with 4 - 8 courses and choices by the chef. We wanted to let the chef surprise us and selected a 4 course menu at 42.50 pp and were totally delighted. From the amuse bouche through every course the dishes reflected Michelin quality skill, flair, innovation, and presentation. Tastes, textures and presentation delight both the eye and the palate. The wine list is varied with selections from France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, South Africa & New Zealand - priced reasonably for such a high calibre restaurant. We also elected to have the host do the wine paring and her choices were excellent. A first class meal and the best we've had in the Netherlands so far. Could not recommend it highly enough.

We were in a larger group and had the tasting menu. Several really nice and elegant dishes, special flavours and good combinations. At one point they ran the risk of going overly poncy, but, to my mind, they did not go over the top. All of this was combined with a good wine pairing for each of the courses and that makes it a good recommendation.

We were genuinely welcomed into the restaurant and got seated next to their wine cabinet. The restaurant looked really impressive and very fancy. As we did some shopping before going to the restaurant, we put the stuff beside our seats. the waitress then had to pick a wine from the cabinet and clearly got frustrated as it was difficult for her to reach due to our stuff. She impolitely asked us to either put the stuff away or hand it in to her as she was be able to store it elsewhere. The dinner was not even started and we already got a negative image of their service. Perhaps it was due to our groupon voucher? as it provides us a 6 - course dinner against a reasonable price. Tip: do not put a table right next to the wine cabinetanyways.. To start of with our appetizer, it was a little bland. However, the main courses were of small size but yet, very divine. For the dessert, we requested to substitute the cheese platter to another dessert as we are not a huge fan of cheese. We then got a dessert which looked a little uninspired but the flavors were there. Overall, service could have been better and food was okay although it did not get that "wow" factor in my opinion. I was underwhelmed as a had high expectations due to the fact that this restaurant received 15 gault millau points.
