The restaurant is located in the old part of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel inside of a very old, majestic building. The menu is descent (good do with more taste) and they only serve 1 kind of sparkling water; some horrible dutch brand. Staff is friendly!! Great ambiance for larger groups; especially during summer time!

It is hard to find any negative comment about this place; atmosphere is perfect, food is simply stunning, personnel is friendly, great terrace, parking for free...Definitely can recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an upscale place to sit, relax and dine perfectly!

We enjoyed a fixed price (Euro 27.50 pp) menu which included a caraffe of house wine and post-meal coffee. The head of service (and probably the owner) efficiently and effectively managed the whole experience with two others despite having a full restaurant (approx 80 covers). Despite her youth, she would run a close race with the Maitre D's of London's finer restaurants. The food verges on fine dining so represents excellent value and this is a restaurant clearly popular with the locals. A rare find in a small town on the outskirts of Amsterdam but well worth a visit.

The food is very well prepared, as the quality of the ingredients is excellent. The oysters as starter were very good indeed. Not the 'snot' you sometimes get. The other dishes were well prepared (eg codfish), however the sauces/dressings/mousses were very dominant in the taste. Ambitions of the staff is high, and no doubt it will receive a star one day. However still a long way to go before it is truly excellent.

Delicious coffee, industrial look place. Brand new shop in a picturesque village. Though we went with 2 small kids, it isnt so kids friendly. Theres no kids menu but staff was nice to offer to make something for them. I wouldnt recommend taking children younger than 10yo.But pricey but coffee is worth it! This place is just what the village needed!

Last week, ai had dinner here with my friend who lives in Abcoude. For some reason, we often pick this place, despite Abcoude having a number of good restaurants around. The place is located in the heart of the centre and it is housed in a nice old building on the corner, with a nice view on the bridge. Summertimes, this place is well visited, mainly also because of the nice outside terrace. Inside they have a large classic bar together with some nice marble tables where you can sit for dinner. The menu is simple with a slight french twist. You can find Burgers, Meat, Fish and also vegetarian dishes on it and for kids they also do a special 3 course menu. On top of this they also have dishes to share and a cheese menu. Plenty of choice I would say. we had a Pastrami dish to start with, which was very nice (for me they could've left out the cream cheese though) and fish and a burger as a main course. Portion were quite good. Service is good and friendly here and they do try their best to make yo feel at home..

Take a minute to catch your breath from todayâs hustle and bustle. In the beautiful âRonde Hoepâ polder, between the villages of Amstelveen and Abcoude, where the three rivers "The Bullewijk", "The Holendrecht" and "The Waver" merge, you will find our uni
When we arrived staff made a mistake with a present, which was not intended for us. We absolutely had no problems with it, but nonetheless they insisted we had a drink on the house as appologies for the mistake. That's what we call excellent service! The food was great with original touches and also the location is beautiful. We will certainly return here!

But you leave with the worst impression because of the breakfast and the service....the ambience, the dinner, the rooms and the friendly reception staff promise a great stay. But wanting to leave early in the morning is a nightmare. Breakfast starts at 8am, and even if you are in the breakfast room with your luggage packed and in a hurry to catch your plane, begging the waitress to at least get a coffee, you are left alone, without coffee or even water. Repeating the wish for coffee at 8.02am, so in the official breakfast serving time, doesn't help. Still no breakfast or coffee, but the explanation that she is alone and her colleague didn't show up. No apologies, no coffee, no nothing, just half an hour wait in an empty breakfast room, and no attempt whatsoever from the service to help with a croissant or a yoghurt. Thank God they have coffee at Schiphol. What a shame that we had to leave this wonderful place with anger and emptiness in our stomach just because of incompetent service!

Koekenbier is a cozy Bar/Restaurant/hotel where you can have an excellent lunch or dinner experience, or just enjoy a cold one at the bar until the wee hours of the night. Enjoy our delicious Black Angus steak off the hot stone, or cooked to order. We off
Wow, what a surprise!I was only staying in Abcoude as all the hotels in Amsterdam were full (some conference or whatever) but I would never have found this gem otherwise.Great selection of beers, lovely staff and food to cook at your table on a hot stone! Heaven!OK, I know it's not a new concept, and you can find similar places all over the place; but this is just so perfect after a long day. Steak, 3 jumbo prawns, salad and two sauces for about â¬25, who could complain at that? The staff were attentive, but not pushy, and the food was excellent. The place was about 85% full on a dull Tuesday evening, so they are defi3doing something right.I'll definitely stay outside of Amsterdam again, and make a point of dropping by this place again.
