A friend was visiting from Milwaukee, and we went straight to White Horse from the airport. Salt Lake City continues to surprise me in both positive and negative ways. Our bartender, Justin, was engaging, insightful, and an excellent barkeep. His cocktail suggestions were provocative, and the drinks themselves delicious. My friend enjoyed his oysters, and the crowd was surprisingly alive and electric. It was a Thursday night. Of course everything quieted down after 11:00; it is SLC. However, for an hour and a half I thought I was in a big city. I enjoyed White Horse, and now I want to return. Bravo for uplifting my spirits and giving me some hope that survival here may be possible. I'm prone to hyperbole, so take that last statement as an attempt to see the glass half full.

I visited Whiskey Street in downtown Salt Lake City Utah after it was featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. The location reminded me of an old style saloon, perhaps in the Roaring Twenties. Great tables and atmosphere The food was unique and delicious. I had the Polenta Poutine and my daughter had the Cuban Sandwich, which were both delicious. I would recommend stopping by if youâre in the area.

The Pie Pizzeria, a valley landmark since 1980, continues to reign atop the "Best Pizza" lists because of the business philosophy that consistency, quality, equitable pricing and great service are the keys to success. The Pie takes no short cuts! We belie

Best bruger and fries in town!
Walked two miles to enjoy an evening dinner with friends. Ordered and never received our food. The first time we checked on our food status after waiting 30 minutes we were told it would be out in a minute or two. After waiting almost another 10 minutes and going back and asking for a refund we were told we would have to wait in line. Needless to say I did not wait in line. Turns out that didn't matter because no one there knew how to process a refund. This place consistently disappoints on one end of the spectrum or the other whether it is with service or quality of food or lack thereof more appropriately. It's overpriced and over sensationalized. This place is a modern-day dive. Tried to order a Stella at the bar and they don't carry Stella and the bartender had no idea what to offer as a similar replacement. I've tried this place since the day it opened in its new location multiple times but never again. It's time for ownership to give up the ghost and get somebody in there that knows the industry and how to run a business. Poor customer service, inconsistency in the quality of food and poorly trained staff. Tonight's incident was not related to being busy. The place was about two-thirds empty. Stay away. Drive somewhere else.

Went here for a late afternoon lunch after pickup my son from the airport. It wasn't planned but my wife made the suggestion and glad she did. We been here a number of times and never had a bad meal yet...and this included today as well. My wife had a side salad and quesadilla. My son had the thai chicken pizza with grilled chicken breast, Thai peanut sauce, mozzarella, red onions, bell peppers, carrots, ginger, cilantro & scallions. I had the ribs and the soup. My son also had the soup. It was a bit spicy but the flavor was absolute excellent and the spiciness wasn't that bad...just to let you know. The ribs were perfectly done, moist and fall off the bone. I even have enough for lunch tomorrow. If you've never been to Porcupine, I suggest you give it a try. It can get really busy depending on the time but the wait is worth it. Luckily we were seated immediately today.

Salt Lake's original brew pub since 1989, serving award-winning fresh brewed beers and an eclectic menu filled with pub favorites like fish and chips, bacon wrapped meat loaf and our famous veggie burger. Serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Private
Stopped here for dinner, based on a recommendation from our hotel. Very cool old building, lovely back patio area. We ate on the patio and enjoyed the night. Captain Bastard's Oatmeal stout was good and their rum based drink stumbling missionary #2 was very good as well. Server was friendly and food was very good. If we stayed longer in the area we would have returned.

They card you when you go in. There are plenty of tables. We got great service. The gumbo soup was a hit and two of us tried different pastas. The pasta I enjoyed had dried tomatoâs, artichoke hearts, pine nuts and a nice sauce. Really great food!

Arrived around 8 pm and the place was packed! But, the wait was only a few minutes. Very interesting and varied menu--something for everyone, it seems. Ordered the Kobe burger, medium rare, and that's exactly how it was prepared. Very tasty and huge! It came with a sizeable amount of lettuce, onions and tomatoesI Opted for the "carrot chips", which are "crinkled" chips of raw carrot--they were ideal, dipped in blue cheese or ranch dressing. Great selection of beers. Will go again next time we are in SLC.

Confess a little daunting to stroll in on your 'tod' when the bar is lined with locals. But a great authentic atmosphere, polite service and a good selection of beers. Also had a great burger to tide me over.Loved the frozen strip along the full length of the bar to keep the beer chilled. A new one on me!
