There's something about a local eatery that speaks to you before you even order your meal. We took a small group of business associates out to a birthday brunch. None of us had ever been to Joe's Cafe before this experience. The food was everything you'd expect and more. The service (fast-casual style), and the table service were just fine, if you're okay with getting your own drink, tableware, and napkins. The portions were larger than anyone should eat in one sitting (you can always take some home if so inclined). The prices were full-fare restaurant level, notwithstanding the serve-yourself style. So here's the rub: Everything was sticky. The dining table; The ketchup container; The salt and pepper shakers; The service table; the chair back and seat. It felt like they needed to close for a day and power-wash the entire place top to bottom. Great food. Grimey environment. Southern comfort doesn't need to be sticky. But we did get a good meal and enjoyed our visit.
I'd heard about this place and finally got a chance to try it. Wow! Most things are really too beautiful to eat but do it! We had a pain chocolate which was so flaky and tasty! The dark chocolate was dipped sufficiently through the end of the bread so it wasn't just the bread. It reminded me of pain chocolate we had in Paris - very authentic! We also had a vanilla salted caramel macaron - heavenly! I'll go back just to have it again and to try other flavors. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the flavors meld together so nicely. The chef takes special care to make things beautiful! There are meat pies, gelato, flan, custard cups, cakes, tiramisu, breads and more. This will definitely be a place we go back to. Bravo for having a wonderful patisserie in downtown Provo!

Just been for a lovely lunch with friends. Lovely atmosphere and although we had booked there was no need too as quiet, recommend the table by the door. The service was excellent and waiting time was short. Good value meals and helpings plentiful. Parking on road as no ca rpark I imagine this could be an issue at busy times but church opposite has parking and nearby streets available too. Would definitely return. There is a quiz on a Wednesday night and I hear this is a fun night.
It can be tough to find a good cup of coffee in Happy Valley. Coffee houses are few and far between in this part of the country. The barista was cheerful and helpful.Great atmosphere!
