I've been to plenty of teppanyaki restaurants all over, and this one was decent for Sandy, UT, the staff were friendly and service was good, but as a whole experience it was lacking. It could've been because our tables other patrons were not very enthusiastic/energetic/friendly, my friend and I were the only ones who seemed excited to be there. The chef only gives you 2 sauces for dipping, I've been to teppanyaki places where they give you 8 different sauces, some of which are mixed/made right in front of you... typically on average at least 3-4 sauces are given for dipping at these types of restaurants. I would suggest the chefs add more sauces! The food was good, the steak and shrimp were cooked just right, but with pretty mediocre dipping flavors. The warm sake was good. The fried rice was pretty bland. I've had spicy ones and much more flavorful ones at other places. My friend really liked all of it though as she has never really experienced this type of dining before, so maybe for first timers it's a great experience. Prices were also good value IMO. They seem to be doing very well, it was still busy when we came in at 8:30pm and people were still walking in after we sat down and started eating. All in all we would go back if I'm in Utah again.
Come by your local Noodles & Company at 6901 South 1300 East, , Midvale where its globally inspired dishes including noodles, soups and salads, come together to create a World Kitchen.
Our family tried Noodles for the first time and it was a hit. I first had the Korean Spicy noodles and the second time (we went back a day later) I tried the Japanese Pan noodles. Everybody really likes their selections and they serve ample portions. You will not go away hungry. My favorite were the Korean Spicy noodles. Just the right amount of spices and great flavor.
Experienced very good, unique, Sushi combinations with very good service and white, cloth, table clothes. Was surprised that the bill was so reasonable. We were directed to Blue Marlin by some locals while skiing at Snowbird. Loved the place. We'll be back next winter.

Full disclosure: I don't like raw fish. I didn't eat any raw fish on this trip. My companions who do eat raw fish frequent "Simply Sushi" regularly and finally talked me into trying it. There are plenty of cooked varieties of sushi and I walked away having tried many and feeling satisfied. Their cooked varieties are obviously not an afterthought. You can also order your selection wrapped in soy instead of seaweed. I had an upside down shrimp, a kong, and California roll and they were all fantastic. I will return to this restaurant without hesitation and heartily recommend it.

7 sushi chefs behind the counter preparing exotic combinations of sushi, at an incredibly reasonable cost.... They don't have everything (no uni) but it was so wonderful and so inexpensive, we dined twice here on our 5 day ski trip to the fabulous ski areas in Utah.
Was in town on business, coworkers who live here told me I had to try this place. We all went there for lunch and it was excellent. Lunch counter style serving and then you go find a table to sit at. Hawaiian themed food. Barbecue chicken, sliced steak, pineapple and teriyaki type sauces. Really good choice and was very happy with the quantity of food I got.Wasn't terribly expensive, I think my meal came to 12 bucks including drink. Thanks for the 5-star! We're glad you left full and happy! We hope you come back to town soon, so we can serve you again.

Tsunami has become a big player in Utah's sushi scene. With 4 restaurants now across the valley, they are pretty popular. Sushi has come a long way in Salt Lake, and there are what seems to be 100 sushi restaurants now.Tsunami does a lot of things well, and they have a pretty big menu, not just sushi. They dare I say maybe even spread themselves a little thin with some offerings, but everything I've had there so far has been pretty good. Nothing disappointing, except the major faux pas of having Hawaiian Poke spelled "poki" on the menu. Yikes! It's all good though, as I would never expect to find real poke here, nor "Japan Japanese" food. This is American sushi, American Japanese food, and there isn't anything wrong with that. It has its place and it's following. There is a plethora of sushi rolls here, many of them appear to be in-house creations, so you need to read the ingredients, as the names won't give you much to go on.Aside from sushi, they do a good bento box in which you can mix it up and order a few different options. The last time I went I had a steak and sushi bento. I substituted the sushi out for whatever the waitress thought was the best roll, and it was good. At the end of the meal I always like to get a cheesecake. They are absolutely delicious, and made by a local bakery called 1Luv. They have an ever rotating menu, so the server will keep you up to date.Service has always been good when I've come, and the restaurant is clean and well decorated. I've only been to this Midvale location, none of the others.Charley-Thank you for your review. We appreciate your patronage! And thank you for catching the typo on the menu!

Our group of 3 stopped for a later lunch, arriving about 1 pm, and were seated immediately. Service was quick and friendly, and after starting with an order of gyoza two of us had the Tonkotsu Black and the other had Sprouting Up. All were excellent, and I noted the thickness of the broth which was different than dishes I've had in other ramen restaurants. I also added a topping of brussel sprouts to my tonkotsu, and they were wonderful despite my dislike of brussels sprouts!Total cost was just under $50 for the 3 of us, so decent value for the quality received.

Slow time of day, 3pm. Ordered my favorite: small plate short ribs minus green onions. Plated beautifully as usual. Meat was undercooked. And I just couldnt bring myself to send it back- general rumors ya know.My daughter joined later and service was very slow. We ordered coconut glory dessert minus coconut flakes. The ice cream was ginger instead of coconut.Tsunami usually does not disappoint, but it did today and this was my first time at the SJ location.Tracie- Thank you for sharing your recent experience at our South Jordan location. We have shared your comments with our service staff and kitchen team in order to make sure that your next visit is up to our high quality standards. We hope to see you again very soon.

This place is fantastic. I havenât been here in about 6 years, and they have made great strides since then. The menu choices is endless. Itâs probably the freshest sushi I have had in a long time. We ordered the geisha, firebird, Vegas and Hawaiian rolls. They were all delicious. I also was happy to see they had cinnamon tea on the menu, it was great. The music was way too loud, but the hostess was very accommodating and turned it down when I asked. They did forget a roll, which we had to ask for after about 30 minutes of getting the rest of our rolls. Aside from these small issues, this place was excellent and will be my new go to for great sushi.
