Reviews on American food in Ogden, Utah, United States. The city was named after fearless fur-trader and adventurer, Peter Skene Ogden, who explored the untamed area in the 1820s. Since then, Ogden has seen poverty and prosperity, conflict and celebration. Today, although a more subdued and modern place, the city is still big on action and adventure the whole family can enjoy. Take the kids to ogle the more than 100 life-size replicas of pre-historic creatures at the Ogden Dinosaur Park and Museum. Or head to the Tree House Museum, one of the best of its kind in the U.S. Adults will find plenty to enjoy on local golf courses or hiking trails in the summer, and everyone will love the local winter ski resorts. A grand old depot, Union Station is a must see for history buffs and anyone interested in trains and railroads. Be sure to stroll along 25th Street downtown. This historic block was the center of activity in the early 20th-century and is home to many restored buildings from the railroad era. The street also boasts an eclectic mix of restaurants, one-of-a kind shops, antique stores and art galleries.

This place was pretty cool. Iâve never been to a restaurant like this. The atmosphere was great here. The staff was friendly and our waiter was constantly making sure we were doing good.Order the deep fried mushrooms and if you are in a group of 4 or less just do the half order. The prime rib was alright. It didnât seem like it was seasoned much. My wife enjoyed her rib eye but my daughter didnât like her homemade Mac n cheese.

Located downtown, open sundays. Great for brunch. I had the tomato bisque and chicken salad sandwich, delicious. My husband got the French toast sandwich, crazy good. Iâll be getting that next time. The toast is soaked in an orange custard. Eggs, cheese, bacon, and maple syrup make up the rest. Mmmm. We sat outside on the patio which is kinda hidden and super cute. I hope this place sticks around!

The ambience is... well, brick and concrete; but that won't matter once the food arrives. The meats are smoky, spicy, flavorful, and tender. The ribs are meaty and fall off the bone. But the cajun sausage was my favorite! Oh, and the mac and cheese - our waiter (also one of the cooks) told us that the mac and cheese is his great grandma's recipe; and let me tell you, Great Grandma was a genius! The prices are reasonable too. But here's a tip: the burnt ends, which are Ogden's favorite, require good timing if you want to try 'em. Friday lunch is your best bet, according to our waiter. Saturday lunch is a definite maybe. Any other time, and... well, I missed out there, but I'm planning to come back and try again for those highly praised burnt ends.

Cean was our server. He was on-spot with taking our orders, refilling our drinks, bringing our meals and attentive to our littles. The food was excellent. We ordered burgers, salads and kids' sliders. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We'll definitely be back!

This is a nice restaurant that can accommodate all kinds of events. We have attended birthday parties, business dinners, romantic celebrations, reunions, and recently a celebration of life. The food is excellent and they offer a wide range of entrees. The atmosphere is rustic and homey. Great place for special occasions or just a lovely dinner.

While in Ogden for the Golden Spike celebration, we stopped for lunch at the Union Grill. The restaurant is in a charming historical building where a dance hall previously occupied the floor above. I highly recommend the pasta salad with chicken which was flavorful and just right for lunch. There is a wide selection of items served, so all can find something delicious to try. Itâs a busy place, but service was friendly, and we didnât feel rushed.

the food was real good, and the service was great. they do get crowded around lunch and dinner which causes the service to be slow. they have a decent collection of craft beers, but they are mainly ales and ipa. very poor selection of porters and stouts.

Located on historic 25th Street in Ogden, Pig & A Jelly Jar restaurant serves a fresh, from scratch menu with a unique twist on comfort food.
Good vibe going on here. The food wasnât perfect but decent overall. I had the Pig Burger, ordered it medium and it was well done. The fries were fresh but too greasy. Fried pickles were yummy but again greasy.. I think they have something special here and with just a little attention to the small details would turn it into an epic location.

I had dinner at Jeremiah's, it is located in the best Western Complex in Ogden. I had the meatloaf, and mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Both were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were a surprise they were lumpy. Just the way I like them. The service was quick, the bathrooms and venue were clean and it was a great meal.

My wife and I (and now our 1 year old son) have been coming to Slackwater for years. I don't want to feel like I'm writing reviews when I only have bad things to say, so they definitely deserve praise for always having an excellent product (this from a northeast pizza snob) and having a great vibe and ambiance - even if a bit noisy during busy times/live music - especially with the patio overlooking the river. But I've found the service to be spotty at times, with the most recent visit being so egregious that I had to write something. We stopped in mid afternoon, at which time the place was mostly empty. We were promptly seated, but then waited for 15 minutes before being acknowledged by the server. This would be bothersome on a busy night and completely unacceptable when things are quiet. This was essentially the tone for the entire visit, with everything taking forever, which unfortunately seemed unique to us. The party sitting nearby that ordered after we did was halfway through their meal before my wife even got her salad and was paying their bill by the time our food came. No explanation or apology for the long wait was ever given. Fortunately we were given drink refills before our food came, but the server once again disappeared after the food was brought out (by someone else) and didn't stop by to see if we needed anything until well after we were done eating. As anticipated, it then took another eternity to get the check, by which point our 1 year old was totally done and had been taken outside by my wife. It should be noted that the same server had another party near us which she visited at least 3 times before coming back to us. Only at this point did i get a half-hearted apology for the wait for the check because she 'had a lot of tables on the patio'. I glanced out before leaving and yeah, there were 2 parties tops out there. If 2 is considered 'a lot', I'd hate to see the dinner rush. All told, we were there for approximately 90 minutes. For a salad, stuffed sticks and one pizza. About double the length of time it usually takes us when dining out. I understand that families with children may not necessarily be Slackwater's target crowd, but if the party with the 1 year old is the one you choose to keep waiting, I think you'll find that that doesn't work out super well for anybody. I can understand longer waits when things are busy, but once again, there's no excuse when the place is dead. Granted it was a bit busier by the time we left, but it was still less than half full and that doesn't explain taking forever to be acknowledged or to get our food. Between that and feeling like we're being singled out is where the frustration comes in. I imagine it'll be awhile before we're back. We don't get the chance to come during off-peak times very much and I wouldn't even want to think about braving the dinner crowd after this experience.I am very sorry for your experience with us. We strive to give 5 star food and service. Obviously this was not the case for you. If you can email back at [email protected] I would love to hopefully make it up to you some how and I would like to know the server that was taking care of you. Again thank you for reaching out. This only makes us better. Thank you.
