20 minutes from Ljubljana airport towards Kamnik, hidden from the main road offers great service, great slow food menues for a very reasonable price. Definitely the best value-for-money in the surroundings. Don't forget to try their "prekmurska gibanica" from the sweet part of the menue!

Stopped by for a quick bite. I had a sandwich and my friend had eggs. The waiter was extremely friendly. The bistro is small and cosy. It is right by the river in the city center. You can find parking on the street close to the bistro. Prices are affordable. We paid 20 Euros in total with drinks.

A must in Ljubljana. Enjoyed a fantastic breakfast, but you must confirm they are still serving breakfast these days. Dear HempColonel,thanks for finishing your review, we are honoured that you have kept our Monstera bistro in such great memory!As for serving breakfast, we stopped 3 years ago. Namely our lunch service expanded and we start serving at 11.30 already.So, for breakfast in Ljubljana, there are several tasty options elsewhere, for lunch you are welcome from 11.30 until 16.00 (last possible arrival) from Monday to Saturday. We came to this restaurant situated in the castle for dinner. For starters, there are a beautiful views of Ljubljana below. We opted for the five course tasting menu (â¬56) and were blown away by the food. Courses were small, creative, absolutely delicious and attractively presented. We also had the optional wine pairing which included five exceptional Slovenian wines. We highly recommend this restaurant! Best food we had in 14 days in Slovenia and Croatia.

Modern design, very nice interior, knowledgeable and high class waiting staff and very good food are main characteristics of this restaurant. Only down side is its location, away from city center, so use of taxi is recommended (unless you have a car at disposal). During the rush hour you can get stuck in a traffic jam. But since Ljubljana is a small town, this could take you away some 15-20 minutes, no more. Once you are in the restaurant, I am positively sure you will love it. Cuisine is on the modern side and very tasty. I had a fish and it was very nice.

Hidden in a small village, suburbs of Ljubljana the restaurant offers wonderful Slovenian national dishes. There is a decent parking lot. The atmosphere is homely and warm. Food was very good, in particular the beef soup with noodles and pumpkin soup, and pork roast served with the best roasted young potatoes ever and fried chicken. For a welcome, there was a glass of plum brandy with a plum inside. The house wines, bottled specially for Kovac were very good. The only small disappointment was the dessert, two pieces of strudel one with cheese and other with apples. The one with cheese was very dry and overbaked while the apple one could do with some more apples.

This is old fashioned restaurant with Balkan cuisine. Food is very good. Athmosphere nice, although decoration is poor and there is only 1 room. But staff is kind and you feel very welcome. Like you are back in 60th.We like to go there.

We had such a wonderful night at this restaurant! Consistent with other reviews, host Mira is incredible. She serves, cooks, converses in multiple languages and makes it all seem effortless. We ordered too much food, but everything was delicious! Mushroom soup was my favorite, husband got beef noodle. Each soup order enough for two people (2.5 euro). We ordered salad which consists of lettuce, pickled beets and tomatoes lightly dressed in a vinaigrette (3 euro). Mira also suggested we try the pumpkin seed oil which she left on the table - yum. We each ordered our own entrees (10.5 euros each). All were delicious - sausage, pork and trout. Served with zucchini and nettle cannelloni. Meats also included potatoes and trout served with roasted pistachios and capers.We sat on a balcony that overlooks trees. Temperature and setting were very peaceful and relaxing. There were only 8 tables and all were full. There are more tables inside but if you want to dine outside I would suggest reservations.

Really enjoyed my meal at this road-side restaurant next to the Domzale stadium and other sports facilities. Had a wonderful mushroom soup (â¬2.50!) and excellent sea bream with artichokes and spinach. Topped if off with some yummy pancakes with almond paste. Just writing this makes me want to go back immediately!

We held a business lunch in this restaurant because of all good reviews and we were not dissapointed. Service was really friendly and the food tasty. We had appetizers, mushroom and beef soup, duck with potatoes and different steaks, all well prepared and nicely presented. Apple strudel was one of the best strudels that I ever tasted. So I highly recommend this place for all opportunities - family celebration, business meetings or just casual meals
