This was a gem of a find on a cycle tour of Austria, I had been struggling to get Gluten free food, then came upon this gem of a place. The waiter was so friendly and helpful. We were a party of seven cyclists and were hungry and thirsty when we reached this beautiful town. The restaurant/cafe is situated in the main square and was very attractive.There was a warm welcome from the host and very friendly service. I had not bothered to ask if they did gluten free as I have to be honest and say most of the places I had stopped in on my tour were not gluten free,however when I asked for my choisce of lunch ham and eggs no bread he said we have gluten free bread. I have to say I was overjoyed the bread was the best best I had tasted in Austria, also on top of that there were gluten free cakes and pastries!!!! amazing. My fellow travellers who are not gluten free also had substantial meals, all at reasonable prices.

2. Schiffsmeisterhaus
We are a traditional & original Hotel & Restaurant. We have lovely single/Double/Family Rooms and Apartments, we served nicely food all day long. We are happy to welcome everyone also just for a drink or a small stop at a rainy day.

17 cyclists going down the danube found this comfortable and well appointed hotel. Lovely garden terrace restaurant with excellent food and service.Proprietor Bernhard was very welcoming and helped us plan our next days itinerary down the Wachau valley to krems - without his advice we would have been riding down the north bank instead of the South and missed the views.Highly reccommended.
