We had a good lunch here, although not everything went great. I personally ordered the Schnitzelburger (⬠4,80) but without onions (allergic). Unfortunately I got it with onions. They changed is quickly and I got a coffee for free in the end. Which is a decent solution.

After walking up the Krippenstein all the way from down in Obertraun I was really hoping for some better food. In the end I took only a "Apefelstrüdel", this was already a disapointment, my son had a spaghetti, which was cold! At least the pasta was, the sauce was hot. I did not have the energy to go back and complain. But we left after we were finished.

Parking is virtually impossible at hallstadt and costs the earth. Go to Obertraun which is before hallstadt but still on the lake. There are two services then to hallstadt - one by small boat and another by larger boat every hour from here. Parking here is dirt cheap and plentiful. In the meantime you can visit this cafe. It is small with a cheerful although not particularly cheap, menu. Service with a smile and super clean toilets. Many things to do on the side of the lake.
Stylish place with great icecream and lovely hosts. Pizzas looked great, i wish i tried them. Make sure you stop by!

I stumbled across this cafe/restaurant as I was travelling around Hallstatt town. I actually checked the reviews while I waiting to order food. I was shocked by the negative feedback people have given this place. The waiter and waitress were very polite and recommended a selections of local hams and cheeses which were excellent. No racism exists in this cafe!! And the food is great!

located on the main square in Hallstatt, Austria
As we needed a vegetarian food for lunch, we chose spinach pizza. Just average, but the service was okay and cozy environment. Situated at a favorable location. Mostly tourists rushing for lunch there.

This is our first visit to Halstatt, we saw cafe near the lake, we want to have some coffee and good time. Coffees were cold, service was slow and waiter was extremely aggressive. Our experience was very disappointing...We did reply to your additional comment from Jan 23. As it has been your sincere desire to send us your negative feedback even twice, we want to assure you again that we are very sorry that you have been disappointed in our premise.Anyhow, we hope that you had another nice stay in beautiful Austria.

The lady here (older with glasses) has to be one of the rudest hospitality workers I've ever encountered. Not only did they charge 11 euro for a flamm the size of 2 palms (looks huge in the menu), but it was given to us on a paper plate. We asked if we could have another plate to share - she said no - 1 plate only. I also initially ordered a coke, then I realised they only served some organic cola, so I cancelled it. She huffed and puffed because she had to delete the item off the order. Should have taken notice that there was no one in there - probably for a good reason. Avoid at all costs. Oh and it's cash only!We are very sorry that you did not feel well. It seems to have escaped them that we are a take away restaurant and not a regular restaurant. this is sufficiently signposted. our paper plates as you write are biodegradable plates for the take away area that we are. The flammkuchen were faithfully photographed together with us by a professional photographer. e refuse to support the Coca Cola Group and offer a very good fritz kola coming from Germany and we are very sorry that we had to disappoint them with our beverage offer. but we hope you had a wonderful holiday.

We had soup and cheese pasta for lunch. Service was ok and food arrived quickly. Salad was limp and did it look fresh. He served never came back to ask about our meal. Nice location right by the water. I donât understand why customers are charged to use they washrooms. I would not recommend as there are other options.
