Popped in for some food on the way to a hospital appointment and boy was I surprised. I went for the lunch time special and had hummus and chicken wings. The hummus alone could have easily fed two people with the amount of bread which came with it and whatever the wings had been cooked in tasted absolutely amazing. Turned a bad hospital day into a positive one. The two women who served me were also extremely friendly, great service.

The food at Antico is delicious and of the highest standard; from the homemade pasta, pizza and parmigiana to the gelato everything is great! The atmosphere is relaxed and service top rate. Highly recommended!

Ever since we opened our doors for the first time, it was always our priority offer the best of Anatolian Turkish cuisine has to offer, while making sure we reach people from all walks of life. We are rigorous about the use of quality ingredients, cooked
My family and I have eaten here several times over the past few years and always found the portions plentiful and food flavoursome. Itâs never been cheap, but previously justified against the quality of the food, good service and decent portions. We ate here last night and was very disappointed. The menu is now very overpriced and portions are very small. I ordered the lamb skewer (£17) and 4 small pieces of lamb arrived along with a tiny portion of rice? The lamb was also very tough. I certainly didnât think it was worth £17. My family ordered a variety of other main meals and all commented that they were not as flavoursome as previous meals and smaller. The service was a little slow and we were waiting on drinks for quite a while. Iâm not sure weâll be back here, which is such a shame as we previously ate here regularly. We might have given them another try, but the prices are just too high now for what you get.

It isn't quite the "authentic Italian" that the review in the Financial Times suggested, but it wipes the floor with most high street Italian restaurants. Following the FT's advice, we had the meatballs polpette. Excellent. The risotto funghi was also better than most. A good Primitivo, better than many. (Nice with the meat balls.) Pity it was down to small bottles of Prosecco rather than something a bit different. Italians have a much better choice of sparkling wines that we see in the UK. And don't even think of asking for Prosecco in Bologna.Excellent seafood pasta, with no attempt to sprinkle parmesan on top. (A crime against cooking that they did try in another Italian restaurant in London recently.) This is the sort of place that you'd love to have round the corner. Good service and a silly price. I mean <£90 for so much good food and wine? We paid twice that the next day for a decidedly average meal.Just one problem, the taxi driver had a problem finding the place. It hardly stands out in the dark.

Ciao *hello* Our popular North East Italian chain of restaurants have been serving up pizza and pasta to customers in Gosforth and Washington since May 2016. San Lorenzo Gosforth is located within the centre of Gosforth high street, offering an authentic
Decided to try San Lorenzo & we were greeted . Menu quite big . My fiancé has to have gluten free & the menu isnât clear but on the small print it does state it & charges more .When we questioned it the waitress just kept saying itâs more & wasnât very professional at all . She then came over & slammed a big can of tomatoes on the table . She didnât say anything so I asked the waiter & he said oh it for the garlic bread to stand it on .We decided to go for a garlic bread starter to share & have to agree with comments the crust is far too overcooked & you canât even cut through it with a pizza cutter . I had the lasagne & it was not nice & it had too much tomato purée in & if a Italian canât get a lasagne right thereâs something wrong . My fiancé had a pizza again too crusty . We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio & the bill came to £50.10 .We were very disappointed . They asked how it was & we said just ok , my fiancé only ate 2 slices of pizza . We wonât be back much better places to eat . Dear Foodsquad65, For the avoidance of any doubt, we not only offer Gluten Free versions of our pizzas & pastas which is clearly marked on our menus along with the extra charge for Gluten Free pizza bases. The reason we charge is that the Gluten Free bases cost approx 5 times as much as our regular bases and unlike our regular pizza dough which we make fresh every day we need to buy in these products as we do not have a controlled environment where they could be produced. We are extremely confident that had your garlic bread been made with our own dough you would have been fully satisfied, regrettably Gluten Free products have a different texture and are not able to match the texture of fresh dough, something we are surprised you are not fully aware of. It appears that your main issue being that we charged extra for the GF bases, something you were extremely vocal about!,

A turkish proverb says that life comes through food. Which is why we are bringing our heart and soul into Saray Turkish Grill, our new Turkish restaurant located in Jesmond, Newcastle. Feel free to have a look at our menu and book a table for an unforgett
Had a lovely lunch for two. Mrs has vine leaves followed by meat balls from set menu. I had Saslik and no starter. The Saslik was really tasty. Very tender good quality meat perfectly cooked. All the food was lovely. Washed down with Efes beer. Service was friendly but unobtrusive. Nice decor and reasonable prices. I suspect we will return soon for dinner.
