This cafe used to be called Phillers. It has been taken over by new owners and has been open for just over 1 year.
We have been here on several occasions. Whilst busy a lot of the time, we have always managed to get a table in the cafe, tucked down a small side street (30 metres long being small) when cafes on the main streets are full. It has a 5 star hygiene rating, and the cafe style food is always superb. Soups, sandwiches, toasties, panini, jacket potatoes with various toppings and huge cake portions, all freshly made (no I donât work here or have any contact other than being a customer). They also have a specials board. Very generous fillings in sandwiches. outside seating with blankets for the hardy and smokers. Highly recommend. One more thing..... CASH ONLY! They donât take credit or debit cards.

A friendly and welcoming Cafe providing wonderful home cooked food set in a unique village location.
Truthfully it's quite nice. It is located in a lovely village although it has no main road presence. The atmosphere is good and it's a charming room with lots of interesting features. Busy too, so good ambiance and a nice buzz.Sadly it fails a bit with service, the younger staff are eager, hard working and friendly, but this is less true of other staff. ...I can live with that. My biggest concern is the cost, be prepared to dig deep into your wallet even for the simplest selection.I am happy to visit again, but it won't be a regular experience.

New find for us, through Facebook. Very popular. Staff friendly. Food piping hot and generally good. Hash browns excellent but bubble was very strange, little taste and very odd texture.

This little diner, near a railway line is a great place for lunch. Good chilli dishes, veggie dishes, home made pie + mash and liquor and generously portioned hot salt beef sandwiches. Reasonably priced and with a modestly priced OAP menu (£5.75 for main dish and pudding/ home made cake). Chef could improve on her pasta cooking a little bit but apart from that you can't really go wrong

Lovingly made family recipes served in our South Street restaurant in Bishopâs Stortford.Open throughout the day, we serve a hearty breakfast menu, a range of lunch dishes and our well-loved Afternoon Tea.The counter is always full of home-made cakes and
We only had coffee and cake here. The cake was nice. China cups and saucers, which could have done with a bit of cleaning. But the noise!!! Some of which was generated from liquidisers and coffee machines, most from people talking, it was a busy Saturday afternoon; but the worst was the continual scraping of chairs on the stone floors. May I suggest some pads for the bottom of the chair legs? Easily available from John Lewis, Homebase etc. Will opt for someone quieter next time.Dear Kim_sunseeker,Thank you for your review for South Street Pantry. We're really pleased you enjoyed your coffee and cake. Sorry you didn't think our crockery was up to our usual high standards, I can assure you, we are very particular about this. Saturday is our busiest day which is naturally going to be very noisy. Thank you for your feedback, we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Stopped in with grandchildren for morning break. Impressions clean well presented cafe nothing to get to upsets about but looked a bit clinical and uninviting. Plesent service, tea cakes OK with tea made with a tea bag left in the mug not a good impression. Only asked if we wanted sugar after we had had the tea awhile. Children had rocky road one was nearly all marshmallow and the other hard as nearly all biscuit so some of this cake was left. Need more attention to detail on service and cakes.Hi DerekThank you for stopping by with your grandchildren both my grandsons are big fans of our homemade Rocky Road too . Weâve just had a refit abd has purposely gone for a more minimal look hence the Philip Stark style chairs and grey tones weâve had a great response so far Iâve noted your points and weâre always open to improve our service Many thanks

Every time I have been in here, and I go in often, the food has been exceptional. The breakfasts are amazing, the eggs benedict is the best anywhere, and the full english is hot, fresh and delicious. Keep up the good work!

Mint Cafe is a delightful little cafe/coffee shop located in Bakers Walk, Sawbridgeworth, offering great value breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.
We have visited this cafe lots of times under its many owners. It has always been great but today the service was truly awful. Despite 4 people behind the counter it took ages to get our order taken then although the drinks arrived fairly quickly our non cooked food of sandwiches and salad took about 20 mins to arrive and the cafe was not particularly busy. At the till we were ignored and it took 2 requests to get someone to take our money. Will think twice before returning. Such a shame.Hi, we appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback and experiences of visiting our café and we are very sorry to hear that you had some issues. In reference to some of the points raised, it can be deceptive as to how busy the café actually is, as we do a large amount of take away and also delivery orders, that need to be carried out in the order in which they are received. All our food is made freshly to order. There are no pre-prepared sandwich fillings and we use as much of the best fresh produce as we can, in order to prepare and serve good food to our customers. Consequently this preparation takes different lengths of time, depending on what is currently on the order rail but I apologise if you feel that 20 minutes was too long for you.If customers let us know that they are in a particular hurry, we will do all we reasonably can to accommodate them. With regard to you feeling that you were being ignored at the till, we apologise. Even with four staff working, which is often five, you will not find any staff being lazy or shirking their responsibilities and we would certainly never deliberately ignore customers. We are pleased you enjoyed the food and whilst we apologise that you were not attended to at the till as quickly as you should have been, we think your description of our service as âtruly awfulâ is unmerited in this case.
