I have been here a number of times over a 15 year period. The food has always been great, and when we visited midweek in September, it was mobbed, so it remains stunningly popular. There were no issues with the food, and I don't need obsequious staff, but there was virtually no interaction. No one asked if we would like more drinks, no one enquired if the meal was satisfactory. The waiter who cleared our table smelt strongly of cigarette smoke; he'd obviously just returned from a break. The dessert menu was placed on the table upside down. Perhaps this is irrelevant, but it shows a certain disinterest. Although just after 10pm when we finished the meal, it was clear the staff wanted us to leave.I was minded to award four stars, but it is clear from reading other reviews that the service has deteriorated, and that if any effort has been expended in improving customer service, it has not yet had any effect.But.......It was really busy on a midweek night, so perhaps we were unlucky.

Could not fault any aspect from quality, taste, service or pricing ! Individual requests catered for and as always my âchicken tikka masala madras hotâ was AMAZING - not on the menu but special request not a problem for the fab chefs !

We eat here very often as it was recommended to us some years ago we have recommended it to family and friends and everyone has enjoyed it. The staff are great and the food is great, Sunday buffet is great to try different dishes they do mild, medium and hot curries as we tend to eat the same dish every visit as we enjoy it everytime.

The food served here is top class. We had a great family meal. There are some dishes on the menu that you wouldnât usually find in your average Indian restaurant and the ones we tried were excellent. The service was as good as the food. Can highly recommend.

Spice Lounge is family owned and run by two brothers and their wives. They have been in residence at the old Shepherds Rest pub above Blackburn and Rishton - gateway to The Ribble Valley - for almost 20 years. There are no shortage of Indian restaurants in the area and some, like The Shajan on the A59, very well known and popular. Others, like the Spice Lounge, appear a lot quieter - but do not be fooled.Donât even be fooled by areas of thread bare carpet, or indeed a general feeling that the place is a little tired. Do not be diverted from the flavour and quality of the food and the genuine hospitality of the owners and their staff. So many Indian restaurants do not offer bad food, however, finding somewhere that offers good - and non generic - Indian food is always exciting.Certainly, The Spice Lounge can dish-up a Chicken Tilkka Masala or a lamb Korma - but put yourself In the owners hands and I am pretty sure you will not be disappointed !There are some great fish dishes and several with names and combinations of ingredients I havenât seen before. My visit this evening was the first after a gap of many years, but I was delighted to discover Spice Lounge all over again. I ate a dish featuring heavily spiced mixed meat balls in a rich and creamy onion sauce which seemed Madras hot. Really light and tender meat balls and a very satisfying sauce with rice and a Nan bread.First class ! The main was preceded by a chicken chat purri starter with salad and a choice of sweet or coffee to finish - all at an early bird £9.99 !I will be back again soon to explore what look like fantastic fish and king prawn dishes on the main menu. FAB !

The service was great. Very attentive waiters, very polite and friendly. Restaurant was clean and tidy and if you take a trip to the toilets you can see the chef's cooking. 5** for that! I ordered a plain chicken curry as I was playing it safe. I asked for medium spicy. When I received it, it was full of green chillies and onions. I really struggled to eat it as it was just too spicy for me. It was nice location for a get together with the girls but unfortunately I probably wouldn't visit again.

The food was delicious and the welcome/service was outstanding! Weâll definitely be visiting again. My husband and I visited with our 1 year old daughter yesterday evening. We were driving home after a holiday in France and were on the lookout for a good pit stop for tea. We rarely eat out with our daughter (we donât like to disturb other diners) but we really couldnât have been made to feel more welcome/relaxed. All the team went out of their way to make our daughter smile and have fun (with limited success unfortunately - but not for lack of trying)!! She was given lots of waves, cheek strokes, a drink top-up and a lollipop. We (the adults) were also very well looked after and really enjoyed the food. So glad we stopped and weâll visit again when we pass through/near Accrington. Shame we donât live closer!

fine Indian cuisine in a relaxed and warm environment. We cater for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and also urge you to tell us about any allergy or special dietary concerns you may have. Disabled access to the rear of the building. Dine in or take away.f
Eaten here on a number of occasions and whether you are a repeat visitor or first time visitor you will be guaranteed a warm greeting. You know a good restaurant when you benchmark other restaurants against your favourite... well this is who I benchmark other food against and to date (been 3 years now) not one has beaten it. This applies to myself and other friends and family.Great food at fair prices too!
