Visited last night with Julie and about another 40 regular customers to the opening of the refurbished Ganges Lounge. The guys had laid in some great traditional food and good night was had by all. It was great to see all the staff so proud of this fantastic restaurant. And all the guest are considered as friends not customers. If youâve never been give it a try. Iâve been to probably every Indian in MK and this is the only one I ever return to. By far the best Indian restaurant in MK

We are a modern Indian Restaurant with a rich history in contemporary Indian Cuisine. Wherever we have opened up we have taken the town/ City by storm and we intend to do the same with The Don Indian Restaurant in MK. Like our name we bring with it bravad
We chose the restaurant to host a reunion because it neighbours offices in which our former employer was based until its closure in early 2018, and because itâs close to the main railway/bus station, not for culinary etc reasons, curry and beer being the popular choice of venue and grub.Imagine our surprise then when the meal was by common consent the best quality Indian cuisine all 4 of us had sampled in a long time, while the service was the epitome of attentiveness and good natured humour befitting our troupe of middle aged men. Interestingly, all the other patrons that (Thursday) night appeared to be groups of either colleagues or some form of club. Of the dishes, the Nemo tilapia main course and a hot chicken dish were particularly memorable. Heartily recommended for all forms of boys nights out. Probably not one for romantic or family meals, even if the ambience is modern, tranquil and attractive, a far cry from the average high street tandoori, and the service very professional and engaging.

We tried this place a few months ago because a booking we had made elsewhere had been cancelled and I decided to look up Indian restaurants near me on Tripadvisor. I am sometimes suspicious of fabulous reviews for Indian restaurants because you wonder whether some of the reviewers may be related to the owners :-)Anyway, I looked up the menu and could see they had some really interesting and unusual dishes including more fish than most of the other local Indian restaurants. So I called and made a booking and was greeted by a really friendly voice which made me feel really welcome. We then set the sat nav because we had never been to the area where the restaurant was before. When we arrived we were a little concerned. The road where the restaurant is looks a little run down. However, when we walked inside the smiles and the welcoming and friendly team made us feel much more confident and comfortable. This restaurant is very small inside so on a Saturday night when we go out it can get quite busy. Mind you, we've never failed to get in at 7pm. The team were very chatty and helpful and catered well for my better half's wheat intolerance. I have to say that the wine is also excellent value. We have a lovely Crianza Rioja for only £15. I have paid over £20 for similar wine in other restaurants. Please don't tell them :-)Every dish we have had at the Rose of India is beautifully cooked and not as oily as many other Indian restaurants. I've had the Tandoori Monkfish several times and it's always very generous, really tasty and cooked to perfection. So please don't be put off by the position of the restaurant. It's well worth stepping inside. You will be very well looked after and enjoy some of the best Indian food I have ever had in Milton Keynes.Since finding the Rose of India it's become our favourite Indian restaurant and we must have been there at least 7 or 8 times now. We've never had a bad meal. We took some friends there this week who are real Indian food lovers. They were full of praise for the quality of food and service. A very nice touch at the end of the meal is that all the ladies are presented with their own fresh red rose.Keep are the good work, you're brilliant!

Coming from Buckingham, I am not spoiled for choice with Indian restaurants but the reviews deserved a look at this place. We went on a Wednesday without knowing about the offer and were pleasantly surprised by a mainly full restaurant. Then the stunning food came - tasty, spicy yet full of flavour - fresh hot and filling. Better still was the attentive service from the staff - all of who were great guys.I liked it so much I came back two days later for a takeaway. This is my new local favourite. See you soon!

Had a meal here with a friend, and we were both left disappointed with the food quality.Lamb tikka was rather chewy , a tiny bit of salad (which was fresh to be fair), and quite a bland masala. Even the popadoms felt a bit stale.Staff are friendly and helpful.I think Iâll give it a good few months before considering to visit here again.

This was a rare treat for us, and our first Indian takeaway from a local restaurant. Unfortunately, a great disappointment. Expensive at £30 for me and my young son, and the food was pretty disgusting, almost completely inedible. Tasted almost entirely of coconut with no seasoning and no aromatic flavour at all. The picture below is of our chicken tikka and chicken korma, believe it or not. Went in the bin as it was pretty much inedible.Dear Vanda,Thanks for your Review.I do disagree with all of your comments as they simply are not true.It seems that your review is a reaction to my response on your review on google/.Your review suggests that you paid £30 for a meal for you and small meal for your young son..The other thing you did not mention in the review was that you got all the following items for £27.-Chicken Tikka Masala-Chicken Korma-4 popadums-Pilau rice-Sag Aloo-Chana Masala-Peshwari Nan-Mango Chutney-Mint Sauce-Onion SaladNot actually expensive for £27 ,unless you are used to buying edible and un-revolting meals from supermarketsThe picture you posted is the picture of open half eaten containers of great tasting Tikka massala and Korma. If you were really that disappointed with the meal, we would have expected you to contact us and give us an opportunity to get things right.(although in this case i do not believe anything was wrong).
