I gave this a great review in June. Could I revoke it? This visit we arrived after 2.30pm, not realising they had stopped service. The bar man ignored us and continued his chat to a mate at the bar. We waited for 5 mins. We eventually interrupted his chat and asked if we could sit anywhere. He curtly said Yes, and turned back to his conversation, still never greeting us or asking what we would like to drink. We chose a table and read the menus. Still he ignored us. Eventually a waitress appeared, and seemed surprised to see us. She bluntly said they were finished on food, and walked back in the kitchen. We got up and left in disgust, and still the barman ignored us! No wonder this place isnât packed! We will not be returning.

a 14th century pub with room, serving food 7 days a week, set in rural Fladbury overlooking the Bredon Hill & the Vale of Evesham
Discovered The Chequers at Fladbury while driving in the area from Worcester yesterday.Went back with family today and everyone enjoyed their meal and we all had something different for main course and dessert. Nice patio at the rear and great childrens area with lovely view. Service was very pleasant, can't think of a single criticism.

It's changed, it's affordable and sells solid pub grubDo you remember the time when pubs were places you went for a chat with the locals? Pubs over my lifetime have changed beyond all recognition and lots of pubs I used to know have either been totally ruined, with daft names being one particularly annoying affectation, whilst some historic old properties have just been knocked down and turned into homes.I do not want to go somewhere called the 'Fillet o'Fish & Firkin' or 'The Pretentious Mole', nor do I want wall to wall banks of televisions or wildly overpriced food served on a slate or a lump of wood by some superior waiter who wants to talk to me about provenance. I want a decent pint, a solid glass of wine and a well filled sandwich or pie.Having come from a funeral of an old friend I was certainly ready for a couple of pints when I wandered into The Crown which had, just a few short months ago been a gastro-pub charging around £18.00 a portion. In this neck of the woods it started off promisingly and then bombed. Two young sisters have it now, Kerrie serving behind the bar and her younger sister, Amy, cooking pub food such as pies, toasted sandwiches out the back. It is clean, welcoming and the beer is first class. The menu is sensible and fairly priced, although I don't know how these two youngsters will cope when there is a rush on.However, I can only say that I got some excellent service and would most certainly go back for a pint or three the next time I am in the neighbourhood. Let's hope enough people feel the same to keep a really traditional village pub going.Thank you for your review we are so happy you enjoyed your visitIt has not changed hands we just now have rejigged how our pub operates and employed new manager to run it. But we are so happy you like our new approach and hope to welcome you again soon

A true Gastro-Pub. We visited on New Years Day, found a friendly welcome and a delicious varied menu with real ales and locally sourced produce. The crab ravioli was a great combination of flavours, the pheasant wellington with port was rich and tasty and both the fillet and sirloin steaks were cooked perfectly rare. Sadly we were too full to try the desserts but plan to return.Dear Simon,Many thanks for your wonderful review.Sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you.Just to let you know that we have some amazing Seasonal fresh Summer Meals on our Specials - all locally sourced and freshly cooked to order for our guests. Summer months Easter until September include opening on Mondays - one of the only food focused pubs open on a Monday for miles. Our choice of local Ales, Ciders, Lagers and Fruit Juices and Pressees are constantly increasing and our wine list just keeps on improving too.Our calming Patio boasts both shade and sheltered sunny spaces, al Fresco dining or merely a relaxing spot to get away from the crowds. We look forward to welcoming back you soon to our homeBest wishesJane & Andre
