We have stayed at the Millenium many times and have dined at Cilantro on each stay. This visit however was a let down over those previous. The hotel side of things was fine, no complaints there but normally the food and service at Cilantro is superb and way above what you expect to find in a stadium hotel. However, each course ( 7 course menu Gourmand ) up until the main was bland and had little to offer . Normally this is quite opposite. The main, would have been really excellent were it not for the steak being over cooked and therefore too well done by far for fillet. A shame as the cut of meat was superb and even overcooked was still better than some restaurant meals I have had. The accompanying dauphinoise potatoe were excellent as were the vegetables and jus.The pre- dessert was delicious and went blinding well with the dessert wine and the final dessert was also very good. But what happened to everything else served before the main course?Service, barr that from the young waiter ( Michael?) was again, no where near as slick and proffessional as previous visits, quite disappointing. Thanks to Michael our evening was rescued as he was chatty and proffessional in his work.We may return to see if things improve but with new Thai owners now owning the hotel I think that Cilantro may be on its last orders.

Zest at Lime Square is a waterfront restaurant situated in Reading in Berkshire. The restaurant is decorated with plenty of glass, solid oak floors, neutral walls with warm wood tables and plush hide chairs. It has already won Reading's 'Restaurant of the
Recently visited Zest after booking a large party for an early dinner after our Away Day. As there were 45 of us, we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The restaurant was very clean and the food was lovely. With such a large group, we were able to pre order, with a variety of set menus to choose from. Sally, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with in organising everything and made the whole booking experience so easy. A real bonus was Zest printing off the pre order and putting these on our tables so everyone knew what they were eating! As the organiser of a large party - this was so helpful! I highly recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again.

Fresh seasonal and locally sourced produce ,cooked to order , great single origin coffee, cask ales, craft lagers & fantastic cocktails.
OK, they're not next door but directly across the road so I've been very lucky to have such great food so close. When The Lyndhurst changed hands some weeks back I didn't know what to expect having become used to good food and service. The new owners had a real challenge ahead of them to maintain the same quality. They've nailed it. Yes, I should ask how to spell their names. So not wishing to offend with poor spelling, 'H' and 'G', a couple of Brummy lads have all the northern charm and cheery nature you could want. Always welcoming and always chatty, nothing is too much trouble. The passion they have is infectious. They genuinely care about their customers. Sunday roasts are just what I want and need on a Sunday. I love the roast beef and accompanying gravy.Thursdays is curry night... Curry, rice, onion bhaji, naan bread and a pint for £9.99. Not only a bargain but fantastic food. Tonight I had the chicken... but cheekily asked to try the vegetarian aubergine curry too.... of course they were happy to oblige and another day I would choose this option. The smokey flavour from the char grilled aubergine was amazing. The a la carte menu the rest of the week is varied, seasonal and very well cooked. I'm slowly working my way through the menu but have not been disappointed with anything yet. As with any restaurant there is the occasional mix up. But any mistake is dealt with swiftly with a genuine apology. Although I like their food sufficiently much that the one time a different starter was brought out to the one I had ordered I was quite happy to have that instead... and so can give thumbs up for their cauliflower and parmesan soup.As you can possibly tell, I like my new neighbours a lot. I also like that all of my friends and colleagues who have eaten at the Lyndhurst recently have given the same rave reviews as I have. I wish the lads every success and look forward to enjoying their food and hospitality for a long time to come. And I will learn how to spell their names... Promise!Ed.Thanks Ed for a wonderful review . We are really pleased that you enjoy our Curry nights and the dishes from the a la carte .We hope to see you soon and will try our utmost to continue to deliver great service and freshly cooked seasonal food .

Arrived to find car park full, only space for about 10 cars so had to park in station car park. alright as long as it isn't raining. Must book a table at weekends as it's so busy. There were 10 of us in the party and we had to pre-order our starter and main course a week before. Bearing this in mind the service was aweful. We waited over 40 minutes for our starters. One of our party wasn't served and when the waitress asked in the kitchen, was told they had run out but that was at least 20 mintes after we had been served. The point being we had pre-ordered!! Our main course took another hour. I ordered Dover Sole but it was not cooked properly, the underside was definitely not shown the grill. There were mixed comments about other meals. Duck cooked perfectly, potatoes undercooked.Dear Ros, Thank you for leaving a review. I am so sorry to hear of your sub-par experience. As a business, this is not the standard that we hold ourselves to. I would like to understand more about your time with us.If you would be so kind as to give me a call on 01189844494, I would greatly appreciate discussing your reservation and hopefully arrange a possible return in the future. Kind Regards, Sophie Lucas

Nestling in the small idyllic village of Whitchurch-on-Thames, and just a few yards from the Toll Bridge, is The Ferryboat. A beautiful 18th century country bar and restaurant thatâs packed with atmosphere. With an established reputation for serving fine
Visited whilst staying in Pangbourne. A short walk over the toll bridge passing the meadows and boat embarkation point and the lock. Across the road is the Church in Whitchurch. Arriving as the football was starting we were easily able to get a table. Service friendly and capable, sadly some of the specials had finished but plenty of choice. Lovely presentation of our meal and wine as not driving, there is a car park available. Very relaxed and good value.
