I haven't been to JR Chinese takeaway since it changed hands until this evening. In its favour the food was ready bang on time. But that's all that was good about it. The food was overcooked. The chicken and the prawns were very soggy. The noodles were as though they had been left over from earlier days and warmed up. The prawn crackers were ok. The rice was fine. My mouth feels as though it is full of monosdodium glutamate. What a waste of money. It was way better under previous management.

I have used this take away for over 15 years and it has always been consistently good food. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Their crispy shredded beef is excellent.

I came here with my parents and children for a family meal. The food was average but what annoyed me was that the service was soooo slow. We were waiting for ages for each meal to be brought out. I had to go up to the desk to chase up some of the food. Unfortunately my parents are of the type that won't say anything about slow service and they were paying the main party of the bill so I kept relatively quiet but I won't be going back. It felt as though the restaurant was an add on and that we weren't as important to be served promptly as the takeaway orders.

Certainly one of the best of a pretty decent crop of Chinese takeaways in Grayshott/Haslemere, but in a competitive market they seem to be in danger of shooting themselves in the foot by no longer offering delivery and occasionally employing a comedically stroppy teenager to take orders and payments.

The staff were very pleasant and courteous and the service was fast. The food however lacked any real substance or flavour. I ordered special chow mein, lemon chicken, Singapore fried noodles and in comparison to where I would normally buy from (Famous Chef in Grayshott) I found this meal a little disappointing. The shrimp/pork/chicken presence in the noodles, was considerably less than expected but once again, I am comparing this to what I have come to expect from our usual place. The quantity of lemon chicken given was very generous however...just lacked depth of flavour for me. In addition, whilst waiting for the meal, I noticed the seating pads of the chairs in the waiting area were quite dirty...it wasn't a good first impression and not somewhere I would try again mainly because I just did not enjoy the meal.

I have only been here once but it was ok. The food was alright and cooked fresh, would be a good place if there is a group of people wanting a takeaway for an occasion

We had a takeaway with family and were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. It looks small but they pack it in. The crispy chicken noodles and chicken fried rice were amazing and thatâs why itâs a 3 and not a 1!The reason I have given it a 3 star is the chicken balls batter was too thick, overdone and the chicken wasnât very succulent. The shredded beef was awful! It wasnât crispy and had just gone soggy. Happy Valley in Liphook make incredible shredded beef. Also the king prawn Hong Kong style batter was also soggy. A real shame! They are also more expensive than other takeaway Chinese places around Haslemere. This should mean the quality is the best, but it just isnât. Iâm sorry but this has confirmed my view of Good Earth and I will be sticking to Happy Valley from now on.
