Visited here for dinner on Saturday with a girl friend. Lovely warm welcome as always. The restaurant was very busy with diners and takeaways, as expected for a Saturday night. Drinks and popumdoms arrived swiftly. We had quite a long wait for the main course which they apologised for, but really a problem. I had my usual tandoori king prawns which come on a sizzling plate, sooooo good, huge prawns and really tasty. My friend had the tandoori main meat platter - so much food!Great menu and nice environment, wouldn't go anywhere else locally for curry, this one if hard to beat! We would recommend.

We were really looking forward to a family meal. We were first as they opened so did worry about the empty carpark. We were seated, given minus 10 minutes after being there. Asked for our drinks which was an issue as they didn't know what cider was even though there was bulmers there. We asked for a bottle of wine but was told they didn't have any so gave us fizzy pineapple. By now they were all in a tizzy the fact they had customers. They had no clue of what they were doing so we left. Never again will we even think of going there!

We had an issue with a takeaway meal from here earlier on in the year whereby I complained and was sent out the full order(on a different day, free of charge). Genuinely surprised by this I thought this was a genuine attempt to rectify my complaint however the meal was exactly the same, generally tasteless although it did have some good elements the curries themselves were not great. Then we decided to give it another try last night in the hope that the meals were back to their usual standard as prior to this meal wed never had a problem. We got a delivery and unfortunately it was exactly the same, the good points were the rice, onion bahjee and pickle tray but the rest was very bland, the breads we ordered were tough(peshwari naan and tandoori roti) and dry and the curries were bland and tasteless. I'm not sure if they've a different chef but their curries used to be the best in Workington. Such a shame. We won't be ordering from there again.

The staff were amazing, so welcoming, friendly and easy to communicate with Great hospitality. The restaurant is easy to locate and has free parking on the side. We ordered the pickle tray first with popadoms. The pickle tray came with a various amount of pickles and sauces which were all made to perfection. We enjoyed sampling and tasting them all with our Crispy popadom. For our starters we ordered lamb chops which had a sensational blend of spices coated around them. They were cooked to our liking. As well as the lamb chops we ordered the Cheese Sensations which was recommended to us. And boy were we glad to nibble on them. We highly recommend them! They came with a lovely colourful crispy salad on the side. For our mains we ordered the butter chicken with garlic naan. The butter chicken we have had many times around the country in the various tastes and styles but this one is by far our favourite!! It was cooked with the right amount of everything. From the spices, to the sweetness and the butter! We were left licking our fingers at the end! Highly recommend the butter chicken with the garlic naan. Itâs perfect. The buttery flavour melts in your mouth. To finish off we ordered Desi/Indian tea which was a treat. We didnât see it on the menu but when we mentioned it, the chef came through with perfection. The portion sizes were quite big considering there was only two of us. And the price we paid was reasonable as there arenât many authentic Indian restaurants located in this area. It was the best way to spend our first dinner in Workington and we look forward to coming back again!

We ordered poppadoms with lovely fresh dips, light and fresh onion bhajis, plus a peshwari naan and 2 curries. The food presentation was excellent and taste was perfect for everything. I highly recommend the club special 'Tamarind'. It was so full of flavour and I loved the sweet and sour tang. We over-ordered, but they were more than happy to wrap up our remaining naan, and bhajis which were a fantastic picnic treat on our hike the next day! If we didn't live so far away, we'd definitely be back!
