Great fish and chips, friendly staff what more could you ask of a chippy. The owner said I would enjoy them and I did. (The guy from Biddulph if you remember our conversation)
Finest traditional fish and chips, and good selection of pies and specials. a warm welcome and friendly service at Chapel chippy. No greasy fish or soggy chips here.
Went here recently as my other local chip shop was shut! So glad I did! Nothing was too much trouble for the man he was polite and stayed open longer than he shouldâve done to fulfill my order! He entertained my child and gave him a lolly pop which was lovely! The food was delicious and I will DEFINITELY be returning. What a lovely man and amazing food!

I first found this place one snowy night when my sat back diverted past it due to the M6 being closed. I had a chicken and sweetcorn soup and a special house chow mein.Been eating Chines for 50 years, and the food was as good as many and better than most. So good that on at least 15 occasions since then, me and my wife have taken our chop sticks and bowls the 35 miles from our house to the take away, and then driven a few miles up the road and eaten the food on the car. Never had a bad meal, so I am wondering about the veracity of the recent reviews to the contrary. We will be returning shortly to test them out. Will make another review to show our feelings.

Traditional fish and chips. fish cooked to order. We aim to provide good quality food.
We're visiting from New Zealand and high on the "must do's" was some fish & chips. From searching tripadvisor we came across The Chip Box.The first thing to report was that we had a very friendly welcome from the young couple running this place, which was also spotless.Haddock, Chips, Onion Rings and Peas. All delicious, with the fish being particularly good.We wish them all the best, they deserve every success.Thank you so much for your review. Was lovely to meet you. So glad you enjoyed it!

We call in here two or three times a year after walking or cycling along the Peak Forest Canal. It's a small no-frills chippie where the service comes with a smile and sometimes some amusing banter, and everything is fried off freshly. Good value, too. No eat-in facility although you can sit outside. And there's an excellent off licence two doors along, so you can pair a nice Chablis with your large cod or some Heidsieck with your haddock...
