The good reviews on TA encouraged us to book for Sunday lunch. But, not only were we surprised by the incredibly slow service upon arrival, we were also disappointed that the prices on the Sunday menu bore little resemblance to the menu on their web page. On the website, we were told, 3 courses for Sunday lunch would cost £12.95, but upon arriving, it transpired that this was the price just for a main course!!!!! Starters were. IIRC, £5.50 on top. Having booked a table for a 1pm meal, at 1:45 I found myself going to the bar to ask if we had to come to the bar to order our food.... At this point I was told someone would come to serve us. They did, a few minutes later. But, overall, it was an incredibly poor and slow service. For a pub where the staff's uniform boasted about their expertise in ales, it was weird that when my Dad asked what was on offer he was told that the only 3 options were lager....He even double checked, before being told that these were the only options. The food, when it arrived, was way too large in portion and rather basic indeed. For example, the bacon & black pudding tower was (along with salad leaves) simply 2 rashers of bacon interspersed with 2 slices of black pudding. The attempt at gravy for the roasts probably owed far too much to Bisto or OXO rather than the homemade that the menu boasted. Added to that, how they could charge what they did for the veggie pasta felt nothing short of criminal. We concluded that the ingredients cost less than £1 a serving. We're due back in Kintbury very soon, but nothing would persuade us to return.Hi and thanks for your review .we are sorry you did not enjoy your time with us . Just to clarify we don't have a web site that page belongs to a media company who refused to take it down please check the web address. As for pricing we are not Witherspoon or McDonald's we are a small pub that does make all homemade food . Perhaps you should have complained to us and then we could have at least tried to make things a bit better for you but you did not give us that opportunity. When you return to kintbury please use the other pub and then see how much people are charged around here and you will see that I am actually very very reasonable in comparison. Again we are sorry you did not enjoy your self we do our best to give people a good experience at our pub .thanks again for the review

This place certainly does fabulous pizzas, I visited recently with my grown up children (19 & 22) as mum was on a ladies night.The pizzas were all brilliant, certainly deserved the accolade of best in Newbury, the ice cream was excellent also.But as always these places get greedy with drinks, £4 for a Small moretti and £3 for an even smaller coke does take the gloss of slightly, we had two drinks each for 3 Alcoholic and 3 soft, total £21.00 bloody rip off, its a shame really, they just get greedy with the drinks prices, some of there ciders were over a £5, next time we come we will drink water and have some drinks else where before getting here!Hi Loveallthingsspanish,Thanks for taking the time to write the review. Before pricing our drinks we always do our research. Value for money is very important to us. We also have children and we understand that going out to eat with family isn't cheap. The prices of our drinks are very competitive, actually even cheaper than some other chain restaurants. Considering that we try to use local artisan suppliers who have higher prices than the big boys. Mio Fiore has secured itself as our âletâs go somewhere lovelyâ restaurant. The food is delicious, the welcome always friendly and the team who work the tables are delightful. By the time we leave we always feel part of the family.Mio Fiore is the place we go if weâre looking for a relaxed, indulgent and enjoyable meal out. The food is unpretentious and the special board always has something lush to tempt one away from the main menu. That said, I usually always choose the seafood linguine (too good to resist), last night though I opted for the Gnocchi della Nonna: oh my word it was delicious. The linguine has serious competition.
