British India stands out as one of the best Indian restaurants in a very large area and having eaten in a great many of them I speak from experience. The food is not only prepared with care and considerable skill but the speciality dishes set it aside as a gourmet experience at really reasonable prices. give it a try you won`t be disappointed.

This is one of the top indian restaurant in essex county. Please come and have a try and you will see the difference.
Since the order was taken and we were given drinks, we had to wait for an hour. But the worst part is that nobody check if we had any drinks left. Food was served just because we wanted to leave.Poor service. Paratha- made on old oil- impossible to eat. At the end there was a mistake on our bill. Waiter could not calculate it properly The worst experience ever!!!

Back again, this time for lunch for the sunday banquet. Have docked them one star this time because of the misleading cost of this. We have a leaflet that states 3 courses for £9.95 but lists 4 courses, 1 starter 1 main dish 1 veg side 1 rice/naan, on the window outside the "star" it says 4 courses for £9.95 but inside on the menu it states only 3 courses for £9.95 (no veg side) and thats what you get. So 4 stars not 5 this time. Having said that after having the chicken tikka chat mossala, manchurian chicken tikka, and a chilli nan just for me you dont really need a veg side dish each as well, but we (my wife and I) did decide to order a vegetable dansak side between us anyway. My wifes main dish was the chicken dansak. And I must say we left full up and more than happy with our choices, absolutely delicious as usual.

Popped in with family, recommended as best Indian food locally by pals. Food was pretty good, not brilliant but enjoyable and reasonable price wise. Service was poor though despite empty restaurant too many tines we had to distract the barman from his phone because we had empty glasses - annoying!
