A long established Chinese restaurant just off the High Street, itâs a pleasant enough spot and we had a friendly welcome from all the staff. Décor wise itâs fairly traditional, with only the suspended tiled ceiling jarring a little, looking like something that would be more at home in an office than a restaurant. The menu was very extensive running to well over a hundred options, so there should be something to cater for most tastes. Whilst perusing that we were provided with complimentary prawn crackers, which were pretty good, quite tasty and not as greasy as many places, along with a small pot of chilli sauce. Beer options were Tiger and Tsing Tao, the latter of which was decent enough, although itâs a bit of a shame they were served in pint Fosters and Strongbow glasses! We went for the crispy aromatic duck to start along with dish of seaweed on the side. It might have been nice perhaps to have the duck shredded at the table, that always adds a bit of theatre, but it was very tasty and a good portion. The pancakes seemed a little on the small side, but other than that it was all very good. For mains we went for a few plates to share between us, consisting of the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, lemon chicken, pork with black bean sauce and crispy shredded beef. The two chickens and the pork were all really very good, tasty and generous portions. The meat was tender and they all went down well. In actual fact, three dishes would have been enough between the three of us. The beef though was a little disappointing, it seemed very dry and somewhat powdery, Iâve certainly had better elsewhere.I must admit my expectations from a Chinese in a small town with little competition werenât especially high, but I was pleasantly surprised. Genuinely friendly staff and decent food made for a most enjoyable evening.

For sometime we had given up on buying chinese takeaways in Nailsea and had relied on Indian takeaways when we were wishing to have a takeaway meal. We all [6] really enjoyed the range of dishes we had ordered. It was good value for money, tasty across our range of preferences and thoroughly enjoyed. We rarely have takeaways however will definitely be our chinese takeaway choice.

We are a privately owned restaurant operating since 1992. Junior Poon never been about stars, glitz or gimmicks. It's about the simple old fashion traditional qualities that really matters most to their guests - serving well cooked exquisite classic food
Yet again Excellent food and excellent staff. A particular mention for Patrick who was exceptional. He was able to advise on the dishes and knew them very well indeed which with a vast menu is very impressive. He was very very polite indeed. Every member of staff we encountered was too class. The food was yet again very very good indeed. I had my favourite crispy lamb as one of the courses and it was so succulent and full of flavour. Highly recommend. Thank you for your kind review.Pleased to hear that you have found all our staff to be how they should be. We always strive to provide the best for all our customers.Thank you for recommending us and we look forward to be of service to you again soon.
