Licensed vegetarian and vegan restaurant; also occasional live music and film venue. Established for thirty five years.
This is an interesting concept - acoustic cafe that caters for vegetarians - but it was disappointing. The menu looked interesting and we were really looking forward to eating there during the Rhythm and Blues Festival but despite wanting to support vegetarian places, the standard was poor and not value for money. The young staff didn't appear to know what they were doing, bit chaotic in the kitchen and serving. System not obvious - we went to the kitchen to order when no one came, and were told to take a seat. Could it be that Jim has taken his eye off the ball?? Nice place but a bit tired and not too clean. Won't be going back, which is a shame as there doesnt appear to be any other vegetarian specific restaurant in Colne.

Been to Bertramâs and the Lounge many many times. Always been amazing before. However, on this occasion the service was not great: the courses took a lot longer to come than usual, even though it wasnât all that busy; staff were not overly friendly; staff took a long time to clear plates between courses- so long that we left without a dessert! Itâs a shame, as the food was lovely as always. We filled out a card and put 5/10 for service- wonder if it ended up in the bin?

Went here after a recommendation. It feels quite industrial inside but that's OK. Younger crowd. Not the most comfortable of tables/chairs but it goes with style. Booths looked more comfortable. Menu was tapas and then burgers, kebabs, flatbreads. We tried a few things and all was good. Tasty food and plenty of it. Prices were very sensible for food and drink. Staff were all very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
