Had an evening meal there . The food was good quality and well prepared and there or there abouts on price given the quality. The service , took about 15 minutes before our order was taken and then only because a guy on another table managed to raise awareness. Seemed a little disorganised . Other than that it was okBar prices a bit heavy for the area at well over £4 a pint for ordinary type beers. Would I use it again..yes if I was passing.

Visited the royal george for the 2nd time this week. The first time, I chose fish and chips from the main menu. Was absolutely gorgeous and because the portion size was huge, I couldnât eat it all!The 2nd time I ordered Thai cod and prawn risotto from the light bite menu. The portion size wasnât a lot smaller but I managed to eat it all.....loved it....would highly recommend !

Been here today, party of 6 adults. Pre booked the table, just as well as wouldn't of got one otherwise, aged from 27 to 76. Shown straight to table offered drinks after 5/10 mins then ordered meals. Starters of Prawn cocktail, very nice but only packet bread used not fresh loaves, potato skins were nice, pork and black pudding lovely. Mains roast beef sunday lunch consisting of mash, roasted potatoes carrots peas red cabbage and cauliflower cheese and a big Yorkshire pudding. Nicely presented and hot extra gravy in gravy boats. Very nice but peas a bit shrivelled up, been kept too long before serving. Fish and chips that was massive, perfect white fish with lovely crispy batter served with mushy peas but chips were greasy, mushy and overall disappointing, so were left. Two different parmos ordered they were ok nothing special, not a patch on a pub in billingham known for parmos also red slaw requested but not given. We weren't offered any more drinks or desserts. So asked for the bill, waiting 20 mins still hadn't received it so was about to just go to bar to pay when server said oh sorry I will get your bill now I forgot. So eventually we got the bill £140 spent. It took 3hrs in all yes it was busy but there seemed enough staff, the girl serving our table was very slow don't know if she was new but didn't seem to have a clue. This was our first time here but think it will be our last.
