Good food, lovely local wines, though the ales were a bit mediocre. We love this impressive local pub

The Bell is a truly quirky pub with rather marvellous rooms in the heart of the village of Ticehurst, East Sussex. Warm and comfortable with extraordinary events and intuitive hospitality, weddings and celebrations a bit of a speciality.
Came here for a wedding and every part of this place is lovely.Facilities were excellent (even to the point of having musical instruments installed as urinals in the Gents), staff were friendly and the quality of food was superb. The grounds were stunning and even though we didn't stay overnight, we did get to go see a family members bedroom and that looked stunning as well. The only downers was that we were told to leave our drinks downstairs before the wedding 40 minutes before the Bride(s) arrived and having just one person working the bar after the ceremony did cause some people missing out on being in the family photos.Hello Mags72 and thank you for writing this review about the Bell.I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with us and am sorry that you weren't allowed to take your drink into the ceremony room. In fact, this is a legal requirement - no alcohol is to be served in the room an hour prior to the ceremony.RegardsHoward

A period property in the charming village of Lamberhurst on the banks of a little river. Quite idyllic really-at least the exterior is. Inside this period building is a cool, (temperature), bar with very friendly staff. Despite the various attractive features within, there is invasive music and various boards advertising food/events, which tend to interfere with relaxation. Outside is a different story. We loved listening to the little babbling river and would have stayed longer if we hadnât been en route to somewhere else. Weâll return.
