This restaurant really is "Simply the Best" for fish & chips the Fish is always fresh and chips are like they should be cooked to perfection they offer quite a varied menu and fish can be cooked to your liking if you prefer it grilled without batter it's also cooked fresh to order so may involve a little wait but absolutely worth itService here is prompt and friendly nothing is too much trouble for the staff they offer a small selection of beers and wine too The owner is passionate about his fish telling us he checks every piece of one piece doesnât look good he sends the whole lot back you can guarantee getting fresh fish When we left the guys frying the fish took time to thank us for coming They do a takeaway service too Looking forward to our next visit canât wait ! Canât recommend this restaurant highly enough

Iâve had a couple of take-aways from here recently - one was delivered, the other I collected. The service is cold and not especially welcoming. The four cheese sauce for the pasta is far from cheesy, the pasta is not fresh; however, the cheese garlic-bread is amazing! The food is cheap and hot and if youâre after something quick, then will suffice. I think they excel in their breads and piadinas.

No trip to the sea side is complete without a customary plate of good old fashioned F&C. Normally you end up having this by the ocean but when we saw the rave reviews for Oldhamâs Fish Restaurant we knew we had to try to out.Itâs about a 8 min drive away from the sea front and there is parking nearby so reasonably convenient. Oldhamâs has a takeaway up front and sit down restaurant behind with waiter service. The restaurant has a higher price tag for the same food but even so it wasnât OTT.Being a nice sunny day we chose to get take away and sit on the few tables outside. They have a lunch time fish n chips special for £4 take away but we were hungry enough to order the Large Cod and large chips combo which was fresh+delicious at £9 for the combo, the staff we friendly and served with a smile. It was easy to see why it was so popular doing brisk business in the middle of the day. Only reason I knocked off a star was the kids fish goujons n chips meal for £2.50 was mostly skin so the kids didnât really go for it. Otherwise would have gladly given 5 stars to this awesome chippy with a Certificate of Excellence 5 years running !
