Since becoming a free house in April 2012, The Crown Inn is going from strength to strength. Now under new management, customers are assured of a warm welcome from Landlord Martyn Peters and the team. The Crown is a comfortable and friendly pub/restaurant
Last weekend I thought I would take the drive from deepest dark Mold to Pantymwyn to treat the lovely wife on her 45th birthday. In a nutshell a dreadful night out and experience. Ordered Beer battered Cod and chips for £12.95. Sounds nice I hear you say. It was a shocker. Batter was like chewing rubber and tasteless. The chips were clearly from Iceland Frozen foods and were under cooked. The mushy peas were OK. All in all rotten value for money. The "Big Fish" in Mold do Cod and chips for £4.90 and they are always quality. The Chef at the Crown Inn needs to get to the Big Fish in Mold to sample proper fish and chips and learn how to cook food properly. Much more food like this and the Crown will be looking for new owners as customers desert the place. Just ask Rob Edwards he can speak from experience at losing customers hand over fist..Hello Steve.Rob Edwards is no longer the Landlord of The Crown Inn.Firstly our apologies for your experience. Unfortunately it doesn't seem this was brought to our attention at the time, or every effort would have been made to rectify your issues. Since your last visit the pub has been refurbished, and very successfully relaunched with a new chef and a new menu.Sadly you missed our free tasting at the relaunch but we'd be happy to welcome you back to The Crown Inn to try our new menu.

Just got home and had to post straight away.. my husband had sticker belly pork with salt and pepper chips and I had slow cooked lamb shank. Both on the special menus. The food was excellent, we share just a little so I can speak for both. Well cooked, plentiful. Really enjoyed them.

Edenshine is very proud to serve excellent homemade foods. We focus on using fresh local ingredients as much as possible to provide high quality meals, from Breakfast, lunch, light bites and Afternoon Teas. Pudding is a real treat with everything baked in
A delightful restaurant contained within an old converted woollen mill which also houses an antique department beautifully laid out and full of wonderful items. The restaurant serves delicious home made food in the form of lunches and afternoon teas and the menu is substantial with a wide range to suit all tastes. The restaurant is licenced and bottles of wine are very reasonably priced. There is a large car park and outdoor seating. Not far from a junction on the A55 signposted Caerwys. Excellent service without being intrusive. Highly recommended and looking forward to my next visit. PLEASE DISREGARD MY USERNAME AS IT is inappropriate for this review. Had booked a table with family after hearing lovely comments about the food here. When we arrived our table wasn't quite ready, you could tell they were busy, which wasn't a problem as there is a nice bar area to wait and you can see into the kitchen from there. We were shown to our table and told the specials by a young, polite, girl who was very attentive and ensured our glasses were never dry throughout our meal. It was nice not having to wait for someone to pass by.Food was hot, arrived within a good time between each course and was very tasty.Goats cheese starter was delicious and the chicken pie, which we were sure wasn't actually chicken but beef, was incredible.Wine was tasty and the atmosphere was pleasent.Would definitely return and recommend.

Average food - like home cooking. Not bad, just nothing special. Very dark and tatty inside. Parking is limited.

We thought we would go for my birthday meal. We went to the counter/bar to ask for our booking. We were told the table in the corner was ours. We were given 4 sheets of A4 paper with the menu on. I have to confess that I thought it gave you WW points, I actually commented to the lady taking our order, that I did not understand it was the price. Mixed grill was £21. Even though the order was taken for the steak to be medium to well done, it wasn't on the plate. It did take a minute or so to realize, as the plate was searchable. Everything was just "on" the plate. It was a limited menu as they explained, due to running out of food the previous day. Bank holiday weekend is always a busy time. When we mentioned the missing item, a small plate was placed by the original mixed grill order. It wasn't cooked as requested. The staff were busy cleaning tables, so we didn't speak to anyone again. We asked for a desert menu, while our plates were cleared away. After 20 minutes we asked for the bill and left. Sorry, but I don't feel you have improved anything.

A beautifully equipped Tea Rooms serving homemade Meals, Sandwiches Soups and Cakes. Freshly cooked breakfast using the best butchers in the area. Waitress service and a very warm welcome 7 days a week.
This is a regular Sunday morning stop. Travel for 15 minutes and always for breakfast. (Would still go there if I lived further away). Staff are polite and always keen to make sure you are happy with your meal. Have also been for lunch and afternoon tea. Can't fault this place, staff or the surroundings. Thanks guys
