Off the beaten track and in the countryside, beautiful pub with a fantastic back garden that looks out to fields. Plenty of seating inside and out. You can even turn up with your horse as there is 'horse parking' out the front We only had a drink on this occasion but I would love to come back and eat here in the near future! Thanks for the review. Hope you visit us again soon.

Community owned since February 2013, this well loved Victorian Inn situated in Hedsor Road, Bourne End offers a great selection of cask ales and fine wines. Food is fresh, locally-sourced, home-made pub favourites all to be enjoyed in the warm, cosy bar a
We called in here for a meal after visiting Cliveden and from the moment we opened the door the welcome was friendly. The new owners have refurbished the place and are great hosts. We ate a delicious meal - there is a decent choice on the menu and the portion sizes were perfect.

This is a lovely comfy pub. Some of the staff here were very good but some didnât appear to have much experience with restaurant/bar service. On our visit there were several items not available....I ended up with my 3rd choice for my main course...although wha5 we had was perfectly well executed and tasty.Overall we had a nice evening, so we will return as these issues are easy to fix -I.e staff training and food availability.Thank you for your review, we apologise that we were unable to provide you with the dishes that you wanted from our menu. We are a fresh food environment and we do aim to always have our full menu available but however can't always guarantee this due to the nature of the ingredients we use. However we do apologise that there were shortages on your visit. We do hire our team on attitude and train them to provide the high level of service we expect all our guests to receive every visit. We are sorry you felt that some team lacked experience as this is not how we would like to present our team, and endeavour to look in to our training. The Bel & the Dragon team.

Whilst visiting Cookham decided to call in this cosy pub for dinner. We hadnât made a reservation but the nice guy behind the bar found us a table. The eating area inside isnât massive but is comfortable and the food we ordered was delicious. I had the fish and chips and my husband opted for the homemade pie. We visited on a Wednesday evening and it was busy. There appeared to be a lot of locals just having a drink which is a good sign these days. Anyway, enjoyed our first visit and found the staff to be friendly. Will visit again in the future.

My most recent visit to Hind's Head was once again an impressive experience. The carefully crafted menu of traditional pub-style dishes all have a special twist. We opted for snails, terrine and grouse, guinea fowl and plaice. All dishes were prepared in an exquisitely and very different from what you ordinarily experience at a pub. That's why the restaurant has a star: the unique composition of the food. Service was polite, friendly and professional however it did feel the staff could have had a bit more training and some additional coaching from more experienced members of the team.

Dog and family friendly pub, worth making a reservation as can get busy.We all had different dishes all well cooked, the dessert didn't wow me on this visit, a lemon tart but mains delivered. As a local it would be one I recommend.

Bridging the gap between country inn & local restaurant The White Oak is an independent and contemporary 'Gastro Pub' where the kitchen & service sets out to please. A L Carte & Set menus also decent value (£15/19 for two/three courses at lunch and dinner
Saturday lunch for 5. Starters superb. Chicken liver parfait and smoked mackerel pate excellent. Main courses great. Cannot comment on puddings as we didnt have any. Service excellent. Slightly expensive but still value for money. Definitely a place to return to.

The staff were very friendly, one guy in particular (didn't catch his name) was knowledgable about the drinks they serve and was very helpful. There was a guy who it seemed like it was his first day, bless him he was getting barked at from all directions from I guess the landlady. Felt a bit sorry for him.Nice beer garden, food looked appetising.
