Went to The Cock Inn Last Nights for date night with my husband, the meal was fantastic excellent food my husband had a Steak which was excellently cooked and tasted amazing and I had the Brisket which was full of taste and very enjoyable to eat. We didnât have dessert as meals was quite big a filling, but what I saw coming out of the kitchen look yummy. We had a young Bubbly waitress who was very professional. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place.

A traditional village pub with 2 separate bars - our chefs provide home cooked meals at reasonable prices using local produce where possible
En route from Nottingham to London on bank holiday Monday we were in search of a good gourmet pub in which to have lunch. We tried two apparently respected places near Royston and were met with a meagre menu and less than friendly welcome so we decided to try The Dog and Duck in Stansted Mountfitchet and were very glad we did. The menu was excellent and we received a warm welcome. I would definitely recommend it to lovers of good food and hospitalityThank you for taking the time to write the review - appreciate your comments and have passed on to the rest of the teamRegardsGriff

It might be after closure while I am writing this but they are probably too polite to tell me. I've had the swordfish which is extremely good (I've never had swordfish before but if this is the reference level I dare people too come close). The hosts are very friendly and like too strike up a conversation. If you want to go to an English pub go here

The Duke's Head serves modern British cuisine in the heart of the quintessential Essex village. 'Village Pub & Dining' explains our concept perfectly. A warm, friendly, atmospheric pub, which happens to do excellent, locally sourced food! Along with frien

This is so difficult to achieve enmasse Glad to read you had a great time, we look forward to your next visit. Kind regards,Stacy

The Ash Pub Restaurant is a beautiful traditional 17th Century Thatched House. Locally renowned for the warm welcome, great beer, wine and locally sourced home made food. The Ash has been a favourite for many years since its use by the USA Air Force durin
This is not the most welcoming of pubs - no welcome, no smile from the publican nor the waiting staff. Not cosy at all. Food (a beef roast) was awful, tough beef, (you could have soled your boots) soggy veg, undercooked roasties, bland mash and sacrilege a soggy Yorkshire pud. The steak apparently was better but the battered onion rings needed onion and the pepper sauce needed less pepper. The gov could not wait to get rid of us. I wonât be visiting again.

We are a friendly, traditional family run English country pub serving great pub grub. We have a fabulous beer garden, barn/marquee for bands, events & private functions and a campsite out the back. Children & dog's welcome. There's plenty for the children
We have been here once before - and the food and service was more than enough to make us come back.I would definitely recommend the food here - and the location is spot on if youâre flying from Stansted. We had pie and burger - both were homemade and cooked to perfection. We will be back!Glad you enjoyed your food.... see you next time you're flying from Stansted
