Beautiful 17th Century public house just on the outskirts of Petworth, a mere 10-15 minute stroll from the town centre with stunning views of the South Downs. We are child-friendly and dog-friendly and offer seasonal home-cooked food which has been locall
We came to The Last Drop after saying for months on end that we'd pop in, we only live down the road. All we can say is we wished we'd come in sooner. Food was served promptly, tasted great. Came with a wide range of options for the coeliac in our group who got a dedicated gluten free menu - brilliant. Service was good and more importantly, genuine. Setting is beautiful. We'll be back soon, thank you!Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive feedback. It's always lovely to see the locals in. We are glad you enjoyed your experience with us and look forward to welcoming you back.Joolie

The Black Horse Inn is a beautiful country pub, located just off the A283 between Petworth and Fittleworth, in the idyllic hamlet of Byworth. Jeff Paddock, landlord of 12 years, and his well-established team thrive on providing you with the highest standa

- to put people off visiting. But that wouldnât be fair. Brilliant pub, specialising in top quality local food. Good beer and wine as well and very doggy friendly. Lovely staff, welcoming and friendly and helpful. Just a wonderful country pub in the National Park - tip notch place. Will be back!

The Badgers pub is situated just outside the historic market town of Petworth. It is set in the heart of the beautiful West Sussex countryside and nestled close under the South Downs. Badgers is a privately owned free house with accommodation. Badgers is
We'd been for a walk around Petworth Park and needed some refreshment and found this place a mile or so away. It was fairly busy on a Sunday afternoon, partly with diners and also plenty of others drinking in the bar. There were a couple of dogs in the bar area, plus ours, but we didn't see any in the restaurant area so I'm not sure if they are allowed in there too. However, we ordered drinks from the friendly and helpful bar staff who pointed out a vacant sofa for us to sit on which we gratefully accepted. They have a wine and meat raffle for charity on a Sunday so we had a go but, unfortunately didn't win. Prices were fairly normal for the area so it seemed a good place to stop for a couple of drinks before we moved on.

Had lunch here. Five meals from blackboard. Very very average and over priced. Extremely small salad to accompany two underwhelming fish cakes. Two average fish and chips for high price. Two other meals also disappointing. Didn't complain as our guests from abroad first experience of fish and chips and would have embarrassing.

The Lickfold Inn is a traditional English pub that supplies a refined food and beverage offering, not only to the local community but the surrounding area and further a field over time. The kitchen is the operational engine and heartbeat of the Lickfold I
The professional Portuguese Maitre' D has gone as has the true fine dining, the amuse bouche and a different and interesting menu. The wine list is also in the course of change, concentrating perhaps on more standard wines but I cannot be sure what it will look like once revamped. More usual dishes such as battered fish and chips, burgers and steaks now feature alongside a few more exciting things still on the menu but the prices remain at the top end of the market notwithstanding although the quality is good and what we had was well cooked.. Willing, friendly, attentive young staff, one at least still in training.Hence I rate it very good rather than just average. To be fair, the Lickfold in its previous guise was never very busy but a meal there though expensive was "an occasion" and my wife very much enjoyed. The management may be correct in going down the more pubby route, for example they now show live rugby and I note another review refers to live music, but it is now quite similar to many other places in terms as to what it offers whilst more expensive and remote so I would not be certain as to success.

The inn has medieval origins and is a few paces from the centre of Petworth. With a relaxed atmosphere throughout, its unspoilt bar features ships beams, wooden and slate floors, stone walls and 3 fireplaces, one of which is used to spit-roast joints of m

The Stag Inn is a lovely, country pub set in the beautiful village of Balls Cross in Petworth. The menu changes on a weekly basis and all their products are sourced locally. With traditional log fire and award winning Badger ales - a warm welcome and grea
Visited this pub for the first time today and had a great sandwich lunch. A traditional country inn this place is off the beaten track and in a glorious setting. It was a lovely sunny day today so we ate outside with our dog - the pub is very dog-friendly. The garden setting is lovely and inside very quaint. We arrived just after 12.00 and glad we were early - the pub got gradually more busy and clearly popular. The pub has a good selection of well-kept beers and the menu is simple but well-priced. We had egg-mayo and alsombacon and fried egg sandwiches - these came with rustic chips and salad. Good portions. A great lunch at a good price in a lovely setting - give it a try and it won't disappoint.
