Returned here after a break due to the place going from 5 star to zero following a takeover, however, now under a different manager and whilst not yet back to the standard of a few years back everything is cooked fresh and to a good standard, Sunday lunch was very good, we will return to try other food here & update again but is worth a visit.

Lovely country pub serving beautiful homemade food with a great selection of wine and cask beers. A warm welcome always awaits.
What a find, we were on the motorway and pulled off, I used trip advisor to find nearest nice eatery and this was close to the top and Iâm grateful. The staff were so friendly and happy to server even though it was 5 minutes before restaurant closing time. The food was way above my expectations piping hot and fresh. We all enjoyed our food and would happily have stayed longer and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. I believe we were served by the owners and I would like to congratulate them on a well run friendly eatery. If your in the area I really canât recommend this venue enough. Thank you

Rebuilt in the 1880's on the site of the former coaching inn, The Swan is a glorious example of Victorian architecture, with striking Tudor Revival half-timbered gables atop red-brick chequered walls. Standing opposite the 13th century Grade I listed St O
I was playing in a chess tournament at Winwick community centre. This pub is about 5 mins walk away and I planned to eat here as the only other place in Winwick is a burger king or an open-all hours shop. So Sunday dinner at this very nice pub serving one or two real ales. Not too busy but the 4 bar staff nearly failed my 5 minute rule, i.e. if no one served in queue for 5 minutes, I leave. They were faffing about for about 4 mins. Anyway I was pointed to the 'maitre'd' who turned out to be very efficient. No problem getting my table for 1. I said I had to leave at 1 p.m. so order taken quickly and food arrived within 10 minutes. On the menu it said the beef would be 'pink' but it arrived in good order with an enormous Yorkshire pudding, a trend I quite like, peas and roast potatoes. It was plated not a carvery so left the broccoli and cauli and the stuffing (why?) Also 2 or 3 pieces of UNPEELED carrot. Please stop this eateries, at least the Swan doesn't dress up this labour (but not price) saving as 'rustic' or 'home-made'.I didn't have time for a pud. Ale good and I was a joint winner at the chess!Thank you so much for your positive comments about our pub, if was myself who sat you down. after. brief conversation with you you mentioned you didn't want your need pink. I asked the chef to sort this for your needs. Glad you enjoyed it.congratulations on achieving joint 1st in your Chess game.see you again soon.

Went today 6:30pm ordered 3 adult meals 2 childrens meals... still tasting the grease. Ordered a mixed grill £15 got a 1/4 of chicken breast thqt was cooked from frozen (rubbery texture not fresh) 1/4 gamon steak more fat and rind than gamon got messy fries... stale oil taste was prominent for an extra charge i was expecting a normal size but what i got was less than what the children were served. Ordered a kids burger the bun was solid child couldnt eat it. Ordered a chicken bites kids meal the bites were that solid they could be used with a fork. Ordered a streaky bacon and chicken breast adults meal again the chicken was rubbery and had an odd texture the messy fries orderd with them again tasted more of oil... The baby spilt ketchup on table used a baby wipe to clean it and OMG the dirt on the wet wipe from the table was disgusting. Its safe to safe table table we dont recommend and after a £50 food alone bill for food we are still tasting for the wrong reeason we won't be back.

From the time we met Jon the happy barman it was obvious that this was a pleasant place to be. The lovely slim girl who assisted us was obliging and equally pleasant . The menu is typical of the traditional pub and the children loved their chicken strips . Regrettably the famous Elliot fish pie which I ordered was disappointing as it was a bowl of mash covering a limited selection of creamed fish. However all the other adults enjoyed their meals so letâs give it another try

Cosy pub much bigger than it looks, excellent attention from waiters and waitresses from the minute we walked in. The hardest part was choosing what to have, brilliant menu and specials all well priced. The food we had was lovely, proper chips as well as high quality food! Canât wait to go again.
