Eventually found somewhere to eat that was dog friendly & had parking. You can sit in the bar with the dog but we decided on sitting outside as it was quite sunny off & on. I had the rump steak cooked perfectly MEDIUM & my wife had the gammon steak. Both were delicious. We even squeezed a dessert in I had chocolate fudge cake with ferrero rocher icecream. Cake was nice & the icecream was to die for. My wife had Belgian waffles which she said were delicious. Staff were nice. Service could have been a bit quicker. All in all a very nice meal.Glad you enjoyed your lunch with us. We do have a fabulous butcher and a good chef to cook the meat is always a plus. Nat one of our supervisors makes the cakes so she will be pleased to enjoyed it

We had been recommended to visit this pub/diner for some time and as it was my Birthday we took the plunge. We were not disappointed . Sunday lunch was well prepared and very tasty ( 3 meats) and the puddings were heavenly.Staff very attentive and overall very good value.

Staying just down the road at the B&B Broncoed Uchaf and, luckily, this is probably the nearest place to eat. The pub itself is very popular with the locals with a good range of drinks including some good real ales. The atmosphere is fantastic and the views look down 360 degrees to the River Dee and over towards Chester. The views are excellent. So is the food. We had the steak and red wine pie and the lasagne - both were very good. Oh yes, the staff are very good as well. Thoroughly recommended.

The staff is very helpful and friendly, with inventive and exceptional food! We had a family event in Mold and all met up after wards for an 'after party' of sorts. They were able to accommodate our loud and large group with ease. It is a very unassuming place, where everyone feels welcome.

Horrendous customer service when a woman told us we hadnât booked (we had & proved it). She kept saying to my sister, âNo you havenât booked!â When we proved her right there was no apology (she blamed it on another member of staff) and we were then told there might be a few roast potatoes left. When she said our table was ready I said we were just waiting for my Mum & her response....âchecking whether you got the right place??â This was said with complete attitude. When I said we were leaving, as they obviously didnât want us there, she shouted, âwell Iâve done the table now!!â We had kids with us who were scared! NEVER again!!! Definitely not a place to go, particularly with young children!

Called in for lunch without the kids. Not busy. The barman found us a table and we soon ordered. I went for the steak baguette and the wife ordered veggie noodle salad. Both meals were served fairly quickly. My steak baguette was outstanding with no gristle or fat just lovely tender steak. The wife said hers was lovely as well. Weâve been here many times over the years and it is often hit or miss on quality but this time it was great so no complaints.

We are an independently owned bar and restaurant in the heart of Mold. We aim to provide you with a relaxed comfortable setting for you to eat and drink at. We are open seven days a week serving food from 12pm every day. We look forward to welcoming you t
Once again the fat boar delivers great food at a reasonable price with a lovely bottle of Malbec - those sticky sausages to die for and the chicken bacon and leek pie amazing The only negative about the great evening was at around 7.50 a DJ played music at a decibel level that was not enjoyed by any of the 4 of us at the table - be better and advised to play from 9.00pmOtherwise spot on

Since becoming a free house in April 2012, The Crown Inn is going from strength to strength. Now under new management, customers are assured of a warm welcome from Landlord Martyn Peters and the team. The Crown is a comfortable and friendly pub/restaurant
Last weekend I thought I would take the drive from deepest dark Mold to Pantymwyn to treat the lovely wife on her 45th birthday. In a nutshell a dreadful night out and experience. Ordered Beer battered Cod and chips for £12.95. Sounds nice I hear you say. It was a shocker. Batter was like chewing rubber and tasteless. The chips were clearly from Iceland Frozen foods and were under cooked. The mushy peas were OK. All in all rotten value for money. The "Big Fish" in Mold do Cod and chips for £4.90 and they are always quality. The Chef at the Crown Inn needs to get to the Big Fish in Mold to sample proper fish and chips and learn how to cook food properly. Much more food like this and the Crown will be looking for new owners as customers desert the place. Just ask Rob Edwards he can speak from experience at losing customers hand over fist..Hello Steve.Rob Edwards is no longer the Landlord of The Crown Inn.Firstly our apologies for your experience. Unfortunately it doesn't seem this was brought to our attention at the time, or every effort would have been made to rectify your issues. Since your last visit the pub has been refurbished, and very successfully relaunched with a new chef and a new menu.Sadly you missed our free tasting at the relaunch but we'd be happy to welcome you back to The Crown Inn to try our new menu.
