The Blue Anchor Inn was one of the first pubs in South Wales to produce quality bar meals back in the 1980's. Since then we have gone from strength to strength, winning awards including the South Wales Food Pub of the year for four years,2013, 2011, 2008
Fantastic food, had mussels to start and monk fish and prawn curry, my boyfriend had homemade pork pie to start and hake with linguine in a crab bisque both meals were fabulously tasty, friendly helpful staff, lovely old pub, good atmosphere in restaurant, very good wine, also love the cider. Please get some custard for the plum and apple crumble missed out on that one. Parking on site. Nice sunny beer garden. Sunday roast is good also.

We are a traditional country pub situated in the small village of Colwinston within a few miles of Cowbridge. We aim to provide a warm welcome, traditional pub food as well as a range of weekly changing specials. We also served Sunday Lunch between 12pm a
The staff welcome you as you enter and are always cheerful. The menu is plenty of choice and quite reasonably priced. The food is all served together(usually 13 of us) and is of good quality and very well presented. Also great tasting. Love it there. Thank you for your review and so glad you enjoyed your meal.

It was just a lunch with a drink but our bacon sandwich/roll and smoked salmon sandwiches were delicious. The situation is very attractive and the pub picturesque.

Once a place where horse-drawn travellers would take a break from their journey and have the added bonus of a dinner and a pint of ale, the Lamb & Flag has come a long way. "Well not really" Although the damp walls and a ploughman's no longer set the stan
Visited last weekend for a family meal. We were accommodated in the Bar which was lacking in atmosphere, but as we booked late, were happy to be squeezed in. Staff lovely, food great for adults & kids (beef a bit fatty though), chips and croquettes top drawer. Beer good also. Enjoyed.

Charming village pub serving home cooked meals, real ales, great wines. We offer a choice for most diners including Gluten Free and Vegan.
After a very warm welcome from Georgie, we were shown to our table. Everything lovely and clean. Food was lovely with no complaints from any of our party of Seven. Enjoyed drinks in the garden afterwards. Lovely pub and friendly staff. Home made gravy and light crispy Yorkshire puddings would have been a five stars. We will visit again even if it is a forty minute drive. Thanks again.

One of the oldest buildings in (12-13 Century)the area was part of a Monks grange where the monks grew the food for the monasteries. The building was used by the monks to store the bodies of sailors before burial after they had drowned when their ships ha
We planned our coastal walk specifically to the Plough & Harrow, walking there from Nash Point in about an hour and a half.We were two grandparents and Megan, age 8.My Ploughmanâs was excellent but my wifeâs Sweet Chilli Duck Salad with New Potatoes was absolutely amazing. Megan enjoyed her Sausage and Chips too.Iâll have to plan another walk here!

Not been to the Boverton Castle Pub for years and we were very surprising. We had been told by my aunts that the food was good, but were really surprised that the food was so good. Ordered a Prawn Salad, which was really well presented and was just as tasty, Hubby Had garlic mushrooms, we both had a sirloin steak, which was well cooked and well presented, I opted for the salad and chips, OH. Went for the full hit. It came on very hot plates and the meal itself was really hot and delious. Apologies from the staff for the delay in waiting as they were short of staffed, although we hadn't noticed in any delays certainly worth another visit.

A traditional Welsh Countryside pub & restaurant in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan rural village of Llanmaes. Serving Real Ales, a wide selection of wines, Contemporary homemade food and a warm Welsh welcome .
We were not sure what to expect but Sunday roast beef was delicious and plentiful. Veg was fresh, roasties were crisp and yorkies homemade. Gravy was also tasty and lots of it. Weâd arrived without booking and staff accommodated us easily. A nice mix of locals and visitors and a few friendly dogs. It was a lovely way to spend an autumn Sunday afternoon.Very pleased you enjoyed your visit, thank you for the fab comments, hope you'll visit again soon.

A traditional country inn full of antiques, we provide homemade, locally sourced cuisine, 7 days and evenings a week. With a succulent roast served daily, and a breakfast, lunchtime and evening menu provided, we truly are the place to dine when you're loo
I visited the Victoria Inn last month for dinner with some friends, food was lovely, the curry had lots of flavour to it and wasnât too spicy! Waiters were very polite and catered to our needs perfectly, it was a busy Saturday night and the waiters were rushed off their feet while the bar staff sat behind the bar on a laptop. I later heard her (Iâm guessing it was the land lady) speak awfully to her staff and I was really unimpressed at how rude she was, most definitely wouldnât want my child to be spoken to the way she was speaking to them.Thank you for your comments and pleased you enjoyed your meal with us.As you have been vague as to when you visited us, its hard to identify who was working that evening, however, its true to say that we run a very happy team, all of which are very much appreciated. What you must have overheard was a bit of friendly banter, as all staff work voluntarily and many have worked at this family run establishment for many years. Also, it is necessary to check dinner reservations as well as B&B reservations on line - which is a necessity for all successful business' in today's digital world.

Really disappointed by both the service and the food. They obviously had new staff on but neither of them had a clue. We weren't offered drinks or a menu or even a table when we arrived, despite having booked. After eventually ordering, which was hard going, we waited 25 minutes for a steak and a burger. An acceptable time for a Friday evening but when it came, the steak was cold and the chips were lukewarm at best. I had to ask for a steak knife. It was completely raw inside and inedible for me so I sent it back to the kitchen. When it came back, cooked this time, it was actually pretty tasty. The burger was good though. It seemed like an overall let down for £38. No acknowledgement or apology from management :-( shame, because I'd heard good things.Dear Laura,Please accept our sincere apologies for your experience. This is completely unacceptable and I can assure you it is being given our utmost priority, with plans in place to ensure that you and other customers are not subjected to below par levels of service that you describe.I hope you feel you can return at some stage to give us a second chance.
