My family and I visit the Pentland Roadhouse and the customer service was fantastic. Very quick service and the portions were big - I stupidly ordered a starter. I never managed to even finish a quarter of my main meal.Recommend going. I did notice that they have bands on certain days of the week.

At the Cuddie Brae we pride ourselves upon great value and quality food in providing full table service and also the casual bar dining experience. We always aim to provide just what you are looking for.
Myself and my mum came along with our 3 children and had a fantastic experience. Very busy when arrived and the person in charge was extremely accommodating and had us seated rather quickly despite being so busy and we hadn't booked. Food was fantastic and morish. Our lovely waitress emma could not be more helpful and so very well trained. Other staff members were fab with the girls aswell. We will definitely be back and bring more family. Well done Hi cwelsh1, thank you so much for this amazing review! It's very much appreciated.I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal and service. These kind of reviews is what we strive for! I just showed Emma this review, and she is thrilled. We can't wait to see you and your family again very soon. Many thanks, Ashley MandersonSupervisor

Set within the heart of Midlothian, Old Colliery borders the urban fringes of Edinburgh and offers comforting British fare together with a signature 2for1 and Pizza Menu. Melting flame-grilled steaks and British favourites like Fish and Chips and Chicken
I'm sorry to say but I was dissopointed with my meal when we visited The Old Colliery this week. Having been before and really enjoyed the food I'm sorry to have to give a poor review.Six of us went for supper and the three starters ordered came reasonably quickly and they were all very tasty. Our main meals did take some time to arrive and when they came my grilled fish was solidly baked, I mean it was cremated, it appeared to have been standing under heat for some time. I ate it all though as I was starving, and I dont like to see food, however poor go to waste. All the other meals, with the exception of Granddads were fine, but his pie crust was like my fish, baked far too much and he left most of it on his plate. In fairness the girl clearing our table did ask me if my meal was fine but it was too late by then, I didn't want to cause a fuss, we had all had a very long day and I didn't want the hassle.Hi David G, Iâm so sorry to hear this. Would you be willing to give me a call at the restaurant on Monday to discuss this further? Thanks

The building itself is a treasure -- beautiful old wood. The food is quite good and reasonably priced. We found the service a bit lacking -- rather slow even though the place was not that busy.Thank you for your review.

Whisky bar , traditional ales and fresh Scottish fayre. Over 200 whiskies available.
I went to Edinburgh this summer and was recommended this place by a friend who had visited the city a couple of years ago. I had an excellent breakfast on my first day and kept coming back up until I left. The service, the food, the atmosphere were very pleasant. I tried other places in the city but couldn't find anything that would beat The Abbey Bar's value.

Called in with my daughter for lunch and we had a great time. Food was fantastic and staff were great and chatted as they worked. Both staff serving weren't kids and they would have put the kids to shame, they were busy but we're lovely with little diners and they just worked together beautifully. The food was great and freshly cooked. We both had pasta which was divine and hot and bubbly which is my perfect meal. Definitely worth a visit. We loved it. X

Just a stone's throw from Rosslyn Chapel we fund this to be an excellent lunch stop after our visit. We sat in the pleasant bar area but there's also a large outside area if it's sunny. Professional staff and a sensible bar menu (plus great coffee!).

So disappointed â¹ï¸This place has the great looks the patter and nice staff. What it doesnât have is gluten free foods. Not even fish and chips!!! That came as a great shock because nowadays practically all eating places serve various choices of gluten free food. The waitress even tried to say to me âThereâs plenty vegetarian choicesâ. I was like âwell that may be the case but it all has gluten in itâ!!! Obviously no training done here on allergies and seriously itâs shocking that in this day and age that this place is years behind the time. My friend had a burger and she said it was beautiful. The food certainly looked very nice that was going out to others. I had to pick the least thing that would cause effect so it was fish and chips and leave the batter to the side. As for going back again, well unfortunately, due to lack of food for me itâs a big fat NO!!!My suggestion would be to sort your menu out so you are up to the standard of every other resturant in the U.KHi,I am very sorry that you have chose to write a review like this and feel that this was your experience. We have many items on the menu that are gluten free and have a strong team who are trained to show you our allergen guides and go through processes to ensure guests with allergies can make an informed decision. It is unfortunate that on this occasion you did not want to go through these with the team member and insisted that you wanted to have fish and chips - which you are correct in stating that we don't have a gluten free batter for this but you chose to eat it regardless as this was what you wanted to eat.Allergies are a massive responsibility for our team and the processes we have are in place to ensure our guest safety at all times. I'm sorry you didn't feel your experience was great Team Melville

My husband and I went for dinner and as we have been there before thought it would have been good - it wasn't. The customer service was fantastic - couldn't fault it but the food was shockingly bad and I feel that I've been cheated out of £60. The salad which came with the salad was warm, the chicken strips were tasteless and my main wasn't the best sea bass as it was served with what looked like everybody's left overs. I should have complaint but I was drinking wine and didn't realise how bad it was until I got home. I felt terrible for three days and now just recovering for it. My husband felt the same. We won't be returning.
