The Punch Hotel is a Bar and Kitchen, located in Queen Victoria Square at the Heart of Hull City Centre. We offer home cooked traditional food, beers, ales, wines and spirits. Every weekend we have live music and performances from great local artists.
We have been here several times and will come again and again. The food is beautiful all home made . Cant fault a thing. The staff are so friendly and helpful . The pub itself is a really nice pub and very central. The prices are fantastic for the quality of food and the location. You will not eat better in the town centre for this price. Thank you for a great afternoon again. We will see you again soon . Xxxxxxx

Attended for mums 70th, reserved a few tables. I understand Friday summer evening will be busy however this does not excuse the poor food we were served.Ordered 2 rare steaks, one was medium and the other virtually well done! All chips for every of the 9 meals were undercooked and hard. The onion rings, a story of their own!!! The batter was a very strange almost yellow colour and the onions still raw inside. It is safe to say I will not return.

A historic Inn dating back to the 19th Century but now extended and modernised to offer you the best in a hospitality experience. We are a family friendly pub and parts of our pub are dog friendly too!! We offer great quality and value food 7 days a week
Dog friendly pub in fact very dog friendly we sat outside and they brought water for the dog and some meat off cuts so dog well chuffed. We were there on Tuesday night, burger and a pint for £9.99. Food well presented and tasty. Staff very friendly. Pub nice atmosphere. Weâll definitely be back and can recommend.

Wonderful country pub with great food & drink. Famous for giant Yorkshire Puddings with lots of amazing Fillings. Now also known for award winning Fresh Haddock & Chips. Great selection of cask ales on the bar with different guest ales every week. Friendl
Thought we would give it a try .they have tarted up the pub a little but quality of food has dropped . Service was ok and beers nice.Think the new owners have been here about 8 weeks and previously had the Blue Bell in Cottingham Will not be rushing back for food but will drop in for a beers sometimeDisappointingI hardly think it's been tarted up as you put it, the pub looks amazing now compared to the dowdy one we bought into. As for the quality of the food dropping I'm shocked as we now do around 500 covers a week compared to 50 or so before, think that might say something, but each to their opinionThanks

At The Blue Bell we welcome everyone to join us for a drink or two or a quiet romantic dinner or a dinner party. We offer a wide range of great food from a homemade soup or sandwich to a portion of our award winning fresh haddock & chips or a fillet steak
Having seen the photos in hull daily mail, we decided to go for a drink at the blue bell cottingham, found the photos to be totally misleading as the is a scruffy dirty place we not returnThank you for your review and we are sorry we did not exceed your expectations, steps have already put in place to rectify your complaint about the amount of weeds. Speaking to a lot of the locals and regulars to the Blue Bell they seem a bit surprised by your comments and have said that in the last 6 weeks of taking over the pub much has improved. It's a shame that as you have stated that you will not be returning you will not be able to see the improvements as they take place.Kind regardsPaul

My wife has been saying that we should dine in the Duke since itâs refurbishment, and last night we did. I wonât be repeating the exercise.Maybe because it was the day after a bank holiday, but it was very quiet. Maybe the âchefâ was off because of this too.So the menu is standard pub grub, but at slightly non-standard prices; my Hunters Chicken rang the bell at just shy of a tenner. I got a very overcooked chicken breast sliced in two, sandwiches in a rasher of bacon and a bit of âorange cheese, so chips and an undressed salad. No sauciness to the chicken at all. I asked for some olive oil to put on the salad, and the very pleasant waitress brought some salad dressing, which was well needed to help the bone dry chicken go down. However, the coup de grace was the cutlery. The fork was so flimsy that I couldnât use it to hold the chicken in place whilst I attempted to cut the meat, without it being bent away. So a tenner for a meal that was practically inedible for two reasons: 1. The food was terrible and, 2. The cutlery was an insufficient match for the food.I did mention this to the waitress, who was lovely and apologised. She gets the place the second âstarâ. I do not discount that the place was suffering a hangover from what I presume was a busy bank holiday, but it was the poorest meal Iâve had in quite a while. I like the Duke for a drink, and I will be sticking to liquid refreshment there in the future.

Great British pub serving our famous fish and chips, steak and grills, currys and many more tasty dishes Our bar is geared up for all your sporting events with 5 TVs and a big screen We have 10 letting rooms which are ideal for contractors.
Pop in every couple of weeks and called in midweek for a meal, three mains ordered, came quickly and enjoyed. Ordered three deserts, jam sponge, treacle sponge and the passion fruit cheesecake off the specials board. Cheesecake came out first and soon as the wife dug in with her spoon it was evident that it was frozen. When the other two deserts came out we politely told the waitress of the problem, she apologised and removed the cheesecake only to bring it back moments later with the answer "he says that's how it comes".Cheesecake should not be served frozen so was very disappointed. They are freezer to table desserts for convenience, the girl was right. Everyone who has had them lives them. But Clearly they are not for everyone.Glad you enjoyed everything else, but because of a dessert that wasnât to your taste you only think we deserve a 3.

Been here on numerous occasions food has always been very good. Usual pub type menu but home cooked fresh food not the usual microwave rubbish. Mains and deserts are all good value great choice of beers and ciders. They have diffrrent beers in the bar to the lounge so check both sides. Would recommend nice village pub friendly locals.

Visited in a party of 107 out of 10 meals were inedibleScampi rock hard, jacket potatoes overcooked in a microwave, no butter, peas inedible, steak very poor quality.all in all...will never eat there again.did complain and sent lots back, but more or less told the chef takes no notice..I use the term chef loosely.the prices have gone up here,we all used to go for family celebrations, but no more, plenty of other places that the food and service will be better.Thank you for letting us know about your recent visit to our pub, and I'm really sorry that we've not been able to give you a great experience. This isn't our usual standard and your feedback will be taken on board. If you would like to discuss further, please donât hesitate to contact me on 01482843848.
