If you want to eat out in Bishops Castle look no further - Shropshire has a long history of culinary excellence. Shrewsbury has a plethora of good restaurants, and Ludlow is just down the road, which for a time boasted more Michelin starred restaurants th
We nearly didn't try The Castle due to the previous two poor reviews, so we we were very pleasantly surprised. I can't fault, the standard of food, the service and surroundings. Although we ate inside, the gardens are well worth a look. We thought the food was of a very high standard and obviously home cooked.

The famous and historic Three Tuns Inn, (known locally as 'The Tuns') set at the top of Bishops Castle has been open since 1642! A deceptively large interior offers lounge, conservatory, snug, front bar and function room. Standing on the site of the oldes
Great ambiance from the moment we walked in. Friendly staff. Fab selection of Gins!We sat in the cosy bar and ordered our food. I had a hummus plate which was lovely served with tasty olives and warm pitta. My friend had the camembert which looked gorgeous, served with roasted garlic and warm baguette. I would never usually order a burger but had heard how great they were. I was not disappointed!! It is so refreshing to have homemade chips, onion rings and slaw. The burger was succulent and tasty. Food came in good time and was served by a friendly waitress. We have never been to the three tuns before but will definitely return!!!

Arrived in Knighton in the dark and this place was closest to where we were staying. But it was so good we ended up going back again the following evening! Great menu with different vegetarian choices and yummy pizzas. Staff were really friendly and helpful too!

Had another wonderful meal with three friends. Pub grub superbly cooked and plenty of it. The pie dinner of the day, pork and black pudding this time, was wonderful. Excellent value for money. The staff are extremely helpful and ensure that everything is to your liking. Lovely atmosphere and good beer. Well worth a visit.

Well this is our third visit and and did not disappoint. We have previously visited in Winter and this is the first time we have stayed in the summer. The garden rooms are just so lovely. Absolutely spotless with such nice touches with the provision of chocolate, shortbread and brownies.pThe rooms are so spacious and beautifully decorated with a super-king bed with Hypos mattress, so comfortable. The wet room was great and so nicely kitted out with luxurious fittings. The hot tub was great as usual. As it was summer I swam in the pool. This was so nice and was not cold. It was a lovely temperature and the water was so clear. Breakfast is excellent with great choices on the menu and very well cooked and nicely presented. Lovely fresh fruit is also provided, along with cereals and good selection of preserves. We had dinner both evenings in the restaurant and the meals were very good. The belly pork was excellent. A good selection on the menu of starters, mains and desserts. Service was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again.Thank you for the review! We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and continue to visit us! We look forward to your next visit!!

With traditional flagstones on the floor the pub is quaint and composed of many small rooms. We arrived without booking but we were given a table in a small snug. The menu is varied and dishes could be prepared gluten free. The swordfish was tender and moist and not overcooked. Portions were good and served with a variety of vegetables. The staff were helpful and friendly.

We are a small inn in the middle of the tiny town of Clun. We serve traditional pub food, a lot of which is locally sourced and produced on the premises.
Lovely place. May be worth booking a table, and if you want the steak and kidney pudding, order in advance, as it is very popular - and crummy!Thank you, glad you enjoyed your visit. You are right the Puddings are great and to be certain of getting one it is wise to let us know the day before.
