Things to do in Blackwood
Quite often come here for lunch or a snack. It's Always popular but you can usually find a seat. I like to support local business as they are so much more personal than the multinational chains and this Cafe is no exception. The cafe itself is inviting and the staff are chearful and only to happy to help and help whilst you place your order at the counter, your food is delivered to table and you don't usually have to wait too long. The menu selection is huge and offers. Range from breakfasts, to mains and light bites. It's also licenced. The food is reasonably priced and the portions and quality of food which is excellent. If you are looking for a meal or a snack while in Blackwood I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

This is a pub restaurant in the Boroguh of Caerphilly, which was formerly the county of Mid Glamorgan in Wales. postcode is CF82 7DY
A fantastic independent pub serving delicious home-cooked food in generous portions for budget-friendly prices. Even my normally fussy teenage son was highly complimentary about the roast dinner we ate here today. I throughly recommend Ye Olde Royal Oak and we will undoubtedly be back again in the near future. We eat out most Sunday's and have grown tired of the impersonal service and mass-produced slop churned out by large chain pubs like Toby's Carvery and Stonehouse. Plus, it's great to support smaller local businesses, so give these guys a try!
Food was good and overall very good value for money. Staff did well to get all the food out at roughly the same time especially when you consider we were a party of 27 people.

Our philosophy is quite simple. We want to provide great food and a great service in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
The halfway has always been a favourite of ours being pretty local to where we live. Usually a nice place to stop off after walking the sirhowey valley walk in the summer and being able to sit out isn't he beer garden. I dined here before Xmas and had steak with a peppercorn sauce. It has to be said its one of the best steaks I've had in a long time.. cooked to perfection, medium rare.. quite a thick steak but not tough at all.We noticed the pool table wasn't in situ when we visited which was a little disappointing however this could have been due to the Xmas setting of tables and set meals etc. It was pretty quiet on this particular evening therefore we were asked if we had finished with our drinks a little later as they were looking to close up (however I'm sure we probably got carried away with talking and time may have been getting on but with only us in the restaurant at that time we couldn't blame them wanting to cash up. Thank you for yet another enjoyable visit. We will be back.

The Bumble Bee is a beautifully decorated newly refurbished pub offering everything you could want from a visit. From the elegant surroundings of the quaint Welsh town of Blackwood in Gwent, to the high standard of food and customer service within a tradi
This is a pub we have been to many times mainly as it offers a basic value menu with an extensive choice. Service and meals are generally good however on two occasions visiting on a Monday these have not been up to the usual standard.Never say never but consider another venue for Mondays.

We are open from 12:00 every day. We have a free live singer every Wednesday and Friday evening along with a Kareoke every Saturday.
First time here for a meal on a Friday night. Had a lovely meal with home made chips. Wife was delighted with her cheese and potato pie. Gammon was lovely. Busy pub with a lovely ambience. Great service and reasonable prices. Take note that it is cash only which is unusual nowadays. Will definitely be back.

Valentine's treat from my partner, a meal at The Three Horseshoes in Pentwynmawr. I was very impressed by the welcome we were given. Even more impressed with the meals on offer, a great menu. The oldy worldy feel of the place was wonderful and the back ground music pitched just right The service also second to none, the food could not be faulted. My partner and I both had great, well cooked and well presented meals and the cost was very reasonable. We will definitely be frequenting this venue again

The Islwyn Inn is a modern, friendly restaurant and lounge. We are a family run business with a Welsh theme, and we are proud to source our food from local Welsh suppliers whenever possible, which is then freshly prepared on the premises.
Visited this evening with my cousin and her husband who were on holiday in the area, after reading previous reviews regarding the service I was a bit concerned- no need.Food and service was excellent, we did wait a while between courses but it was well worth the wait, anyway we were all used to eating in France where nothing is rushed. Thanks Islwyn Inn for a lovely meal , especially "oggie, oggie, oggie".
