A Traditional Village Pub & Steakhouse, With up to 4 Well-Kept Ales on at a Time and Good Value, Traditional Pub Food aswell as a huge choice of chef's specials and steakhouse specials.
First time visit. Waited 15 mins before we prompted waitress for order to be taken, then went to table next to us as she assumed we had been served already as we were there that long! Asked basic questions regards the menu, but didn't know without checking. Food arrived in good time and was lovely. Waited ages for dessert. Eventually called waitress over and asked what was the hot pudding of the day. Didn't know so went and checked and came back. Then zero service. Like the table next door we gave up and went to the bar and paid up. Would give it one more go as food was nice, but oh, the service! Msg to owner... Train your staff!!!!

The Ferrers Arms. A stopping place, with space for quality time. Why not slow down, unwind and languish with friends and family. Meet, eat, drink and chat. Come and enjoy our informal bar area, or enjoy an evening in our formal dining area where our team
The new Manager seems really nice, sometimes the food is fine but today my fish pie was dry, overcooked and the fish hard. At no point during our visit was I asked if the food was OK. The plates were collected but no one asked if we had enjoyed our meal. The waitress just left the bill without us asking for it.Iâm so sorry you didnât have a 5* visit with us today. We are working tirelessly to make sure every customer leaves happy. If you could send me a quick email with a few details that would be great. Please include where you sat today.Thank you Dan [email protected]

We booked in for a Sunday Lunch. The pub is quite a small establishment, but we'll kept and clean. There was a really friendly welcome on arrival. The choice of meat for the Sunday Lunch was good. The food came out together, hot and plenty of it with lots of choice. The owner was around and talking with all customers which was lovely to see and added to the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. All of the other staff were all very friendly and polite. Great choice of dessert and my mum was even offered too take hers home instead of eat straight away as she was full. For the price it was really good value. Would recommend to people and will definitely go again.

The Flagstaff Island is OK if you are staying at the Premier Inn and don't want to drive out for a drink and/or meal. From what I saw the pub is mainly aimed at people wanting to eat special offers like the 'Two for One before 18:00' type deals. It is very busy at 18:00 due to this deal, but quite after 20:00. The floor plan is all dining table area, there were only two comfortable armchairs for people choosing to relax with a drink only. The staff were pleasant but busy, so no time for the usual over the bar casual pleasantries. The food was reasonable, nothing to shout about but adequate. Prices for food and drink were reasonable. All in all, this place OK if you are staying at the Premier Inn, but persoinally I wouldn't go out of my way to frequent the Flagstaff if I was not staying at the Premier Inn. very friendly and the pub surroundings typical for this type of chain, and was clean and comfortable. We also had breakfast here, which was very good, self serve continental and waitress ordered for cooked.

The White Hart is on the main street of Ashby De La Zouch. We are a 17th century Coaching Inn known as the pub with the bear in the cellar, as in the pub's early days, the landlord kept a bear in the cellar to control rowdy customers at closing time! We s

The Tap at No.76 Micropub - A traditional establishment that welcomes conversation in a comfortable environment, whilst having an eye for well-made drinks.
To be honest, I spend so much time in here in the winter I should probably have my mail redirected!!!A great pub if you are a real ale enthusiast (which Iâm not but I still love it!).Bar staff are incredibly friendly and so are the clientele!I know Iâm clearly old but I love coming here knowing that I can hear what all of my friends are saying and there is no shouting over music and hoping that you are nodding at the correct places whilst having a conversation! If you havenât been then you must get yourself down there!!Donât worry if you are not a real ale enthusiast - the wines, gin and soft drinks are great - oh, and there is free tea, coffee and biscuits!!!

Visited the Tap House early on a Saturday afternoon to be told the only food being served was a carvery. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of these but it was getting on so 4 carverys adult meals it had to be, clearly advertised at £7.95 each on a large chalkboard. When paying the bill we were charged £8.95, when challenging this we were told that, quote, 'we haven't had the time to change the board' , remember the price was on a chalkboard! One wipe with a wet cloth accross the board which the staff were constantly walking past? The carvery itself wasn't the best and served entirely by the girl behind the counter who made it very clear she didn't want to be there. All the other places who do a carvery that I've been to, serve the meat and leave the customer to serve themselves potatoes, vegetables etc, not here. Apparently also there's a minimum card transaction of £5 which is in my experience becoming very out dated as I don't normally carry cash. This place is in the middle of nowhere. Other places I've been to charge a card their minimum amount then give the change in cash, everybody happy & the establishment doesn't lose a transaction. Lastly the very loud outside music was annoying when trying to hold a conversation and some of the benches were boarderline dangerous as they were so rickety. All in all a poor experience of a place I have heard rave reviews about and doubt that I'll be returning anytime soon. I have used this place many times throughout the years through many reincarnations, The Malt Shovel, Mother Hubbard's, The Answell etc etc and in fact it was my late brother in law's local and this was the first time I was left extremely disappointed.

Nice friendly cafe in town centre which is undergoing a refurbishment and will then be called cafe ambience. Always good service and nice fresh food! Worth a look!
