Welcome to Merola's. Located in the very heart of Grangetown, Cardiff, we offer the very best in Italian cooking inspired from the regions of Sorrento, Positano and the gorgeous Amalfi coast. We prepare produce sourced wherever possible from local produce
Two of us went here following a recommendation from a colleague. We had booked, which is generally necessary I think. We had the mushrooms in garlic sauce and the spaghetti with garlic, spiced olive oil and anchovies to start. Both were nice. Though once we'd ordered, I saw someone at the next table with the garlic bread with cheese and it looked amazing, I wish I'd had that! My colleague later said she and her boyfriend (who have been going here for years) always have the ribs and the garlic bread with cheese, so if I go again I'll go for that. For our main courses we chose pizza, with garlic, ham and spinach and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was enjoyed more than the pizza. The pizza was nice, but if I'm honest, I've had better. We had the tiramasu and Italian cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake has a sponge base, so the cream that it came with was necessary. Both had lots of flavour. I think I preferred the tiramisu. The staff were amazing and so friendly, and many of the customers were obviously regulars which says a lot. Merolas has been there for decades, so they're definitely doing something right! It's worth a visit.

We ate yesterday in this restaurant,it was my friendâs birthday, the bill The gave us was way below expected so we assumed it was a wrong bill, our group canât afford to take advandtage of a wrong billing,so we returned it to them, they realize it was for a wrong table,as a sign of gesture of our honesty, the Manager offered us a shot of drink each, plus gave us an umbrella to use since it was heavily raining when weâre about to leave the place..Well done Staff,I think it was a manager who look after us because he was wearing a different colored uniform, not the plain black and white that the waiters do,I think he was wearing light blue. Thanks anyway to the staff for looking after us.

Located on the first floor at Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, Signor Valentino undoubtedly occupies the best position on the waterfront. With views to die for over Cardiff Bay and stretching to Penarth Marina, there balcony of Signor Valentino is a truly remar
This restaurant has been one of our favourites for a very long time. We had booked a table for evening meal, following an afternoon our down Cardiff Bay. As usual the food was superb, and the service was excellent. The menu has a varied selection of starters and main courses and the prices are pretty reasonable.

Wood-fired real Italian pizza served in the heart of Cardiff. Seating for over 100 people and a fantastic range of Italian wines, beers & spirits.
I booked a table here for dinner with four friends. They said they needed the table back after 90 minutes which was not a problem as we were going on somewhere else after dinner, but this detracted from the experience in my opinion. We each chose different pizzas and everyone was very happy with their choice. The restaurant is clean and the staff were good. The pizzas were better than any I have had from any of chain pizza restaurant.

Visited this restaurant last Saturday on a trip to Cardiff. The place was buzzing and had a great atmosphere. It's only small, so booking is essential on Saturdays and I would imagine that other weekend evenings are equally busy. The menu is small but with the additional specials board, there's something for everyone. I had a great prawn starter with a calzone type pizza for the main course, both were excellent. The tiramisu desert was the best i've eaten in a restaurant. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the service slick and professional. I will definitely book again next time we're in Cardiff, this place is a real gem!
