Small but cozy is the only way to describe it with seating capacity of up to 40 persons. With the vibrant blue & white colour scheme, traditional Greek mouth watering dishes and OUZO, METAXA, RETSINA, MYTHOS & KEO beers, we feel sure 'Zorba The Greek' wil
Visited Chelmsford for work and looked up online restaurants to go to, my wife fancied Greek which is how we came across Zorba! We looked it up found it very unusual location, underneath the arches of the railway station.Must admit as you walk in you feel like your going into a old London cafe or local Mediterranean restaurant which usually sells fantastic local grub ie no frills just good food. Just try the Meze everything that comes out is lovingly prepared and very tasty.Fantastic place to visit excellent food and great hosts.

I wouldnât wish this restaurant on my worst enemy! The staff were rude and had a bad attitude, rolling of eyes telling us there was a minimum spend even though for 7pm on a Saturday evening the restaurant was empty. The food was expensive, small portion sizes of not good quality food.I canât understand how they have such good reviews unless they have paid for them or got the staff to write them?Honestly the worst restaurant EVER!Dear Guest,Our apologies you did not have a great time and weâd love for you to send us an email with the events that occurred so we can follow up and train up where needed, to better the experience. For all groups over 8 there is always a minimum spend, our plates are very generous in comparison to other high end establishments, we are a BYO alcohol venue, we have to be able to impose some restrictions which is always explained before confirming the booking. We do not force our guests to write any reviews just to enjoy our venue, perhaps the casual dining lounge would be a better [email protected]

We met there with friends for lunch and it was a lovey experience from begining to end. The waiters were all friendly, polite and engaging and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the panna cotta which was sublime. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will certainly visit there again ... soon.

We booked for 6 people for a 50th birthday a month in advance. Paid our £60 deposit. Was excited for our night there as I had been before and loved it. The food was amazing, the staff were lovely and even the owner came out to fix the heater for us as we went in Feb and was in the marquee. So with that I booked this for a friends 50th birthday surprise.. we got there and was seated on a small table that was set out for four... we have to squeeze six people around the table.. we asked the waitress why it was small as they was expecting us.. she said no this can get 6 people around it.. we asked to speak to the manager, whilst waiting the table next to us said that there is no way that is a table for 6 as they wouldn't be able to get off or out of their table if they squeezed another person on. The manager came, raised his voiced and said no. This is a table for six, it didn't matter that it was set out for four and if the table next to us wanted to get up we would have to get one of our party to keep getting up and let them out. everyone was looking over. He was rude and caused a scene that didn't need to be caused. All we wanted was to be moved.. but I guess they had our £60 deposit already, what does he care, right? That's what it felt like. Eventually we got moved after the raised voices and the massive scene he caused. It's such a shame as the owner and staff are so lovely but its put us off of coming again and the guests that we had with us that had never been before said they wouldn't be returning. He put a real dampener on what could have been a lovely evening.

Iâve always been impressed with Lo Monaco when Iâve visited, this evening we decided to order take away via just eat. Ordered at 7.27pm, food arrived before 8pm lovely and hot. We had Melazane Alla Parmigiana / pizza fungi / calamari and Linguine and all the food was just as hot and tasty as when Iâve visited the restaurant. My only criticism is that my pizza turned up not cut which wasnât ideal, I still managed to eat it though!Would highly recommend, this restaurant is definitely one of the best on the high street. Good food, good portion sizes and reasonably priced! Thanks for your comments, it is very appreciated and we will try our best to keep going.

Nicely decorated spacious place with an excellent service, great atmosphere and tasty dishes. Call in to book a table.
Very comfortable relaxed atmosphere for a catch- up with old colleagues. I really like the freshness of Turkish cuisine. While I waited for them to arrive I had some authentic plump olives and a drink. The menu is extensive and having recently lost 3 stone on Slimming World I was keen to keep within boundaries. I was encouraged to have the mixed shish which comprised both lamb and chicken. It was absolutely delicious and had loads of salad with it. I did feel very full. The staff were really helpful and attentive without being at all pushy when we stayed and chatted having finished everything. I will definitely return.
