We visited the cafe on Monday 22nd July. Dithering about outside shall we shant we? a lovely Romanian lady came out and invited us in.From that moment we had an amazing lunch, 3 courses for £5.95, huge portions and beautiful freshly cooked food with homemade bread. It was a very warm day and I was using the menu to waft myself. In an instant the waitress came over and offered us water. A pint glass of iced water and lemon wedge appeared, fantastic.Iv'e chosen cheap eats because our lunch menu was a fantastic price, but there is nothing cheap about this fantastic cafe. Everything about this cafe/resturant is excellent, especially the staff, so friendly, happy and helpful. They made our day. Thank you.
If you haven't tried the pizzas at Chinchilla's please please please give them a go. Best pizzas in the north east by far. Fresh dough makes all the difference. Fast, friendly service and very reasonable prices too. I've tried others but won't go anywhere else now. Five stars isn't enough but it's as high as I can go.

This is the third time I have been here following the change to la Torre. Each time has been fab. Great night with the girls- even got free, freshly baked bread to take away! Food is delicious and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

I live local to this restaurant and visited on many occasions I ordered a takeaway and was told that I just caught them as they were closing Upon arriving home I found the container with my pasta carbonara less than one third full (obviously they didnât want to make another batch) Tonight I called in to ask if there was some mistake and showed them my photo only to be told how could they be certain it was like that when it left them. My response was you can see by the sides of the container there has never had any sauce touch it. I was then told that next time they will check the container before I leave.Sorry but there wonât be a next time unless I need to feed 5 year olds

We came here recently after a long time away from the restaurant. we were here for lunch. It was amazingly busy but service was good. We had bruschetta to start which were really good - well topped and very tasty. My main course was linguini pescatore which was large and well prepared. The only problem was that is was swimming in oil - far too much for me but maybe others like it that way.

Haven't visited for a while but little has changed: good food with very good service from a pleasant group of staff. House wine by the glass relatively expensive and the pizza would have benefited by being cut into segments--personal thing--makes it easier to eat.

Eaten here a couple of times over the last year. Despite the unremarkable outside, this is a small but perfectly formed Italian. All the usual fare high quality and catering for allergies (e.g gluten intolerance). Service can be a little slow when busy (mist of the time), but this is because the owner insists on doing all the waitering himself! Slightly pricy but for us this is OK as the quality and atmosphere us good. Recommend...We sincerely appreciate your feedback. Like most good souls, it's what goes on inside that really matters and we're delighted you approve of our menu and quality of food. I'll make sure the owner is aware of your comment about speed of service. I can assure you that he doesn't insist on doing all the waiting at tables himself! However staff holidays and rest time mean it's occasionally necessary. Thanks for our five-star rating. Much appreciated!

Just visited from Glasgow & randomly stumbled across this place for food. The Restaurant was actually closed and the owner opened up for us. The food was absolutely amazing for the price!! Only down from Glasgow for a few days and will need to revisit before heading home. Well worthy the visit and highly recommend giving it a try!

This restaurant s everything which I look for; good food, fresh ingredients well prepared and the service is exemplary! And, the prices are really affordable.I wonder about the people who have posted criticisms. Then I read the other reviews that they write - and they are all equally negative. Some people are never satisfied! They just seem to have a need to criticise; even when no criticism is justified,Well criticism is not appropriate for this establishment. As a discerning diner, I think the restaurant is fantastic; no frills, but good 'home cooked' food, just like mama would make! That, together with the phenomenal low-priced Montepulciano, are the reasons why I return at least once a week for some genuine Italian fare.

Really enjoyed our visit to here, my first since La Cucina took over.Loved the food, and the staff member who served us was very friendly polite and a credit to the place. Excellent customer service all round. Will definitely be back and definitely will be trying their home delivery service in the future.
